Editorial Reviews

Margo Reymundo's recent cd release, "My Heart's Desire," is an elegant reminder why the human voice is referred to as an "instrument." She's created nothing less than a ferociously nuanced and passionate sound that defies nomenclature. Ms. Reymundo, cognizant of that inevitable realization, refers to it as "Organica" - a kind of counterpoise to "Electronica." The cd's title track, "My Heart's Desire," is impossible to listen to without smiling. The album opens up into aural field of ethno-rhythmic songs, rooted in Jazz and Pop that travel some serious territory. This album of "Work and Love" as Reymundo calls it, offers a range of sensuous rhythms and vocals in the form of intelligently handled songs featuring Margo's original compositions and three covers. If there are any references that sneak into one's consciousness, it's clearly Ella and Sarah. Reymundo's voice is clipped and mesmerizing and absolutely infectious. Her dreamy and whimsical songs, "Picture This," "Between Us" and "The Way Back" transport the listener miles away from reality. However you'll soon find yourself in slightly ravaged, not to mention torrid terrain. Reymundo's "I Saw You" and "Couldn't Be More Wrong" leave listeners nicely seared on the backside. While Margo exhibits terrific deftness with her own songs, she also knocks out a heart-stopping rendition of the classic, "Ain't No Sunshine" as well as a new Euro-Rhumba twist to Carly and Michael's "You Belong To Me." This bilingual version from the Mexican-born singer is abundant with international appeal.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Treat of an Album!!, April 6, 2009
This review is from: My Heart's Desire (MP3 Download)
Margo's voice is unique and sounds great on all the tracks here. This CD is a mix of just about every major genre and she performs them all seamlessly. "I Saw You" is a 'radio-friendly' song with a beat that sticks in your head and her cover of "You Belong To Me" is a great treat! A perfect buy for Jazz, pop or soft pop/rock fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Heart's Desire by Margo Reymundo, January 19, 2011

This review is from: My Heart's Desire (Audio CD)
We were treated to the talents of Margo Reymundo when she opened the Mark and Brian Christmas show in LA in Dec. Loved everything she performed and immediately purchased the CD when we got home. Love the CD even more! She had more of a rock edge when we saw her live, this has more of a jazz feel. Definitely a Latin Jazz feel which as a terrific twist to songs you already know. Have been listening to this CD on at work and at home. Definitely recommend that you take a moment to meet Margo Reymundo! Not a lot of Margo's in the world, so it was a treat to find a talent with my name!

5.0 out of 5 stars Norah Jones with a Latin Flavor, November 14, 2009

This review is from: My Heart's Desire (Audio CD)
Margo has a lovely, velvety quality to her voice. Her sound and her music are reminiscent of Norah Jones, but she has definite qualities of her own. A pleasant touch of her cultural heritage comes through, adding to the enjoyment. A great album to listen to on a chilling out evening.
