Book Description

Would-be romance writer Bailey York was a woman who'd already failed twice at love. As far as she was concerned, men were wonderful to read—and to write—about, but that was as close as she wanted to get. Which was probably why she had such difficulty creating a hero.

She needed a real-life model, she finally decided. And she found one.

Parker Davidson was everything a hero should be. Compellingly attractive. Forceful and determined, yet capable of tenderness. A man of substance.

Parker was perfect for Bailey's novel—but he wanted to be the hero in her life, not just in her book!

1.0 out of 5 stars My Hero January 15, 2013
By bibby
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is a a previoulsy published book under another title. I think the publisher should have to republished it under the same name. I purchased this book thinking it was a new book by Debbie Macomber but after I purchased it I found out I had already read it under another title. I like the author Debbie Macomber but this is not the first time one of her books was republished under another name.

5.0 out of 5 stars A romance for romance writers August 7, 2003
Romance writer Bailey York is through with love in real life after being left nearly at the altar twice. Then she meets Parker Davidson, who is the epitome of everything she wants the hero of her book to be. Will she be content with merely writing about him, or will she let him be the hero in her real life? In this book, Macomber cleverly addresses the faults in how the hero is written in the typical romance novel, and in doing so highlights how much different, how much more real the character of Parker is. It's funny, insightful, unique, and something I have read over and over for years. I'm sure anyone who reads it once will do the same!

4.0 out of 5 stars My Hero, by Debbie Macomber May 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I gave this book 4 stars, I really like the book. Actually, Debbie Macomber is one of my heros. She always writes a book that makes me feel good, smile alot and a book that I thoroughly enjoy. My mother, my daughter and I get caught up in her 'true-to-life' type of stories.
In this story, Debbie writes about another romance writer, the kind of fiction I enjoy. It was fun to read. You get a picture of the work that goes into, of course, any writer, and in this case, a romance novelist.
I enjoyed this book, I suggest you read it and find out for yourself.

I am a big fan of her writing, but I wasn't even sure she wrote this. A long way from the Blossom Street books.

Even though it was a bit predictable, it was a sweet story. We all wish we could have our Heros treat us that way!

3.0 out of 5 stars Frothy, but fun January 3, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition
ans of Debbie Macomber will like this and probably have already read it. I was late to that particular game and find this a frothy, fun read that would fit right in on the beach or when whiling away an hour or two waiting for a delayed airline departure.

Bailey York, a wannabe romance writer, needs a model for the hero of her first novel. When architect Parker Davidson's umbrella bops her on the head while Bailey in riding the BART to work, she checks him out and concludes he IS the hero to stand in for Michael, the fictional hero. But when she impulsively decides to follow him from his office, he demands to know why she's following him. His disbelief when she tells him the truth leads to several increasingly romantic meetings that enable her to "fix" what was wrong with fictional Michael, but which also render her fictional heroine a wimp, much like she has become. A result her best friend and fellow writer points out. What results is a meeting that is both predictable, but refreshing when Bailey gets her mojo back and becomes a wife to HER hero, too. Ha!

3.0 out of 5 stars My hero
not my favorite mccomber book, it took too long for them to fall in love and not enough loving and finding out about each other before marriage. I guess I like longer engagements.
