From the Author

My hopes are with telling this story it will help others cope with their similar issues. If I can help at least one person out there, then this book will have been well worth every minute I have put into it.

3.0 out of 5 stars heartbreaking July 6, 2012
By MJ
Format:Kindle Edition
This short story is a fact based account of the authors horrific childhood. Suffering abuse at the hands of her father she tells us how she attempted suicide to escape the humiliation and pain, and how the events have scarred her emotionally into adulthood making forming relationships with men impossible.

Written in a rather childlike way the book is both disturbing and heartbreaking and I take on face value only that all the facts within are true. It is so difficult to imagine the suffering that some children go through at the hands of their parents and I hope that by June making her experience public it would encourage other victims to tell someone what is or has happened to them and have their abusers brought to justice.

5.0 out of 5 stars HORRIFIC! November 20, 2012
By JILL
Format:Kindle Edition
I know that this short story is supposed to be a memoir, but I truly wish it was fictional. The author writes about being a survivor of horrific sexual abuse by her own father from a very young age. As a writer of a memoir myself, I know how difficult it can be to put your story out there. However, what this author writes about her own life is beyond difficult. I give her accolades for her bravery and honesty. I was also happy to hear that she didn't commit suicide and her life with her daughter is now a happy one. As a true survivor the author has a great deal to share with other women who have gone through abuse.
I found this book candid, emotional, and clearly written. The few grammatical errors did not take away from the message. The author has a gift that I hope she continues with, especially if writing about her story gives her the liberating release from the past that she so desires.
I highly recommend this short memoir to others going through this pain. Thank you June for sharing your story. I can only imagine how difficult it was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short but to the point-author of The Teachers Pet November 4, 2012

I'm glad that the author found the courage to share her story. To those that nit pick about grammar, let me nit pick for a moment. Amazon and other self publishing entities have allowed a wonderful opportunity for those people that traditional publishing houses would have turned away from to give a voice to.

Its not always a perfect voice and not every one is a writer. My father never learned to read or write but he was a masterful storyteller. Let's not pay so much attention to the package. You may be missing an incredible story.
