Don't be fooled by the youthful appearance,

My local DJ features this artist on a regular basis, and I've always been impressed by his performances. He even came in live on the morning the CD was released, and was singing his songs at 7:30 in the morning, before heading off to his classes for his senior year of high school. He may look young, but he has a wonderfully resonant voice (not quite Josh Turner deep, but close), and displays mature song writing skills on many of the cuts. The title cut gives everyone something to reminisce about, while the song "The Best Man", written about his step-father, can pull at your heart strings. Give this young man a listen-you won't be disappointed.

I know he's a local boy from around here, but I bought this CD after reading an article about him, and was Blown Away! You WILL be hearing more from this kid! I liked what I heard enough to go out of my way to see him live, met him in person, he's kinda quiet and looks like Frat boy, but give him a guitar and hear him sing and your jaw drops. Yes Every song is Awesome and he either wrote or co-wrote most of them. Looking forward to what's coming next from the Kid from Buckley Wa. I liked him So much I started a Yahoo group for fans of his

Country music once agains fails to notice youth singers,

This review is from: In My High School (Audio CD)
The best album of the year will once again not be up for the awards at ALL the country music awards. IN MY HIGH SCHOOL by Blaine Larsen is pure musical enjoyment. If you can listen to "How do you get that lonely" and not have tears running down your face, then your not really human. On the upbeat side, theres "Yesireebob", don't we all wish we could have a job like that.
I'm only allowed to give it 5 stars, but it really deserves 10.

Blaine Larsen has a voice like George Strait or Jimmy Buffett. He sounds much older than his 18 years and writes music with wisdom. He is going to make it big, I just know it! Buy the cd now so that you have a collectors item later on. Everyone I know who has listened to this cd loves the whole thing. I especially like "The Best Man", "Teaching Me How To Love You" and Off To Join The World (The Circus Song). "How Do You Get That Lonely" tugs at your heart strings. The title track says exactly how it was in high school.

Blaine Larsen has a very soothing voice. His music makes you stop and listen to every word. His songs like (Best Man) & (How do you get that lonely) make you stop, think and feel every word.
The whole cd is something worth buying to add to your collection.

This review is from: In My High School (Audio CD)
Buy it you will love it !!!! The best CD of 2004. Yes it is by an unknown artist but that will change quickly. Ever song is sung with such emotion and the lyrics are so down to earth. I listen to it over and over again. Way to go Blaine !!! Soon to be the next big star of country music.

My best friend just had a good friend commit suicide. the kid was 16 years old. the song "How Do You Get So Lonely" seemed to fit so perfectly well. It was exactly like that. his parents were truckers that just seemed to forget about him... he was doing substance abuse and he was having a hard time. so this was an awesome song.

I bought this disc at a discounted rate and was somewhat glad I did. Blaine performs and records well on some top-notch listening material... very good production from start to finish. The only reason I did not give this disc all (5) stars... Blaine needs to grow more and find his own voice. There are times during the playback where one would swear George Strait had overdubbed a line or two... later it sounded as though Blaine had shared songs with Garth, Alan and/or Brad? However, his vocals throughout very much remind you of Clay Walker... there are many passages where I don't think Clay himself could tell the difference. He may eventually find his own voice and style... but on this his debut studio effort, he sounds like many other country stars whom have already filled that particular vocal niche. Blaine was quite young here... with time and experience he should eventually find his unique place among his peers in todays pack of country crooners.

Blaine is the future of country music! I saw him featured on Great American Country's show CRL a few days ago, and WOW!!! He did an acoustic version of "The Best Man" and totally blew me away! I immediately went out and bought his record, as I think you should do the same! Check out www.blainelarsen.com for music samples and a great biography. I wish Blaine the best and maybe we'll be on tour together someday!

Blaine Larsen may be young, but he sure has a voice. Not only does he have a voice, but he has great lyrics too. This cd is sure to bring tears and smiles, and is totally worth it.
