I've been reading Allan Cole's work for years and have wanted to know the stories behind the stories. Well, here it is, an account of twenty years of collaboration between Allan and his writing partner, Chris Bunch, with all the ups and downs of creating novels and television scripts, along with the inside scoop on what dedication, knowing the right people, and a dash of luck can bring. I've learned what inspired Magnum P.I.'s "The Ugliest Dog in Hawaii" episode, why the Incredible Hulk is green, why the number thirteen is a good number, and how to get rid of a pestiferous actor.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Deal, January 24, 2012
Allan Cole knows whereof he writes. I was witness, some of the time, to his Hollywood Misadventures. He and his partner, the late Chris Bunch, were always a welcome highlight to my day when I was working for Stephen J. Cannell Productions. We knew we'd be getting quality scripts -- and we'd have a wonderful time in meetings. Allan's highly reliable memory for the guys' misadventures is a blast to read -- even if you weren't there. I knew many of the people he writes about, and his "reportage" is dead-on, not to mention very, very funny. For anybody who'd like a glimpse into the TV wars and much much more, "Misadventures" is the adventure not to be missed. It's authentic, it's entertaining, and written with the sure hand of a true pro -- in both the screen and book-writing businesses. Delightful fun all the way!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE REAL DEAL, January 22, 2012
By
RC MATHESON (Malibu, CALIFORNIA United States) - See all my reviews
My gifted pal from 80's Hollywood, the legendary Allan Cole, is a huge, often mystic talent who writes with wisdom and poisonously smart edge. His wit cuts to any chase you may have and his outlaw heart pounds to beats deep and addictive. Do yourself a favor: plunge in.
