My Horse and Me & Horse Trainer DS games review,
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: My Horse and Me: Riding for Gold (Video Game)
Very disappointed in both My Horse and Me game and Horse Trainer game. I have had problems with the software in both games. It seems to get stuck. I jump and it tells me great job and the horse is stuck over the jump! I have called customer service listed in the instruction manual, several times, but they were not very helpful.

I loved this game. It was difficult at first because I didn't know what to do in dressage, but it is really easy when you understand that you have to click on the golden circle thing and if you miss one than you don't do as well. Also for cross country you normaly jump a obstacle while doing a trot but for the hen jump(yes there is really a hen and nest for an obstacle)you canter. When you wash your horse they give you a tiny sponge and when you wash the soap off the water is blue and sticks on until you wip the water off.You can go to shows you do dressage, jumping and cross country. And you can win a gold, silver, or bronze medal. You can also buy outfits, saddles and blankets. You play with your horse and complete challanges. I finished this game in three days. So I suggest that 7-9 year olds play this because it was rather easy. After you finished the game you can only take care of your horse, play the challanges, practice riding and buy items. All in all, I suggest that you buy this game since it is exciting and somewhat challenging.

I am an adult player who plays LOTS of horse related DS games. This is not the best nor the worst horse game out there (Horse Life Adventures is THE best horse game available in my opinion!). I like the little mini games (particularly chasing chickens) and the competitions are reasonably simple to figure out. Horse care feature is a bit obnoxious and when it comes to feeding, it's completely hopeless trying to find what your horse likes, but in general, the game is ok. I have not had any software issues of any kind. Of the 2 Horse and Me DS games, this one is the better of the 2 and if you have to choose one, this is it.

Worth the cheap price. Graphics are fast but low quality, VERY pixely. Not much to do, stupid storyline, create your horse by clicking on one of a couple colors, then you're done. When bathing the horse, water appears on the horse as blue splotches, and overall I don't think it was worth it.

I bought this around 6 months ago, and have still not understood it. You're using your DS so you are using the hard- to- control stylus, not the wii remote and you're expected to know how to use the up and down buttons. After you experiance the jankey training sessons you have to "clean" your horse. That takes up about another hour and half (escpecially on your first try). You have to clean out the hoofs of with some torture contraption called a pick. For this the DS stylus is used. You also must clean the horse. This involves a rag that goes in places it shouldn't. The soap or shampoo thing goes on the skin in every place too. I might want to explain the story to you also. The girl Emma, is either in college or high school and is stupid! She says that her uncle who owns the ranch is rich! A man starts making all of the horses sick drains the money and life out of her uncle. Emma's expected to fix her uncle's deep depression by winning in contests. LOL! When you compete in a competition, the total score you get, is final. You can't do the competion over again later on. I would give this game a -infinity (however you can't). Whatever you do... DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!! |
