I purchased this game for my 9 year old daughter who has been in love with horses her whole life. She and I play this game together and absolutely love it and we recommend this game for all horse lovers!

This is a cute game. I prefer Lucinda Green's Equestrian Challenge (for PC) and hope they come out with that for Wii. The cross country on Equestrian Challenge actually takes some thinking & planning - on this game it's pretty idiot-proof.
LIke the extra side games, could do without the storyline as it doesn't really add much to the game. Overall good - glad there's a decent horsey game for Wii! Note: I'm a female in my early 30's who has ridden horses most of my life and now rarely does, so was hoping for more realism.

It's Okay... but Not as Good as the original,

Overall this game was pretty good. It's pretty much fool-proof, so almost any age can play it. Graphics are good. As far as how realistic the game was, it wasn't as good as the original My Horse & Me. Jumping was okay, but it's a little weird how the horses kick up after they jump, which isn't realistic. Cross Country was fun, but a little to easy. Dressage was the best part of the events.
Overall- okay. I would recommend the original My Horse & Me, this one is all right, but the original was a lot better.

I have this game for PC (known as My Horse and Me 2 in the UK), so I cannot attest to the Wii controls. The game itself is very simplistic, as a previous review implied. There is no challenge for jumping, whether it be in cross-country or show jumping. At times, I would redo a course just to see how many poles I could knock down as that was more of a challenge--nothing like the first My horse and Me, which I found to be a great game. There were more options for your horse's coat and mane and, more importantly, you did not have to be a girl with a significant waist-to-hip ratio.
As other reviewers said, the storyline adds nothing to the game. Sometimes a storyline helps a game, but in those cases, it is longer and more complicated then this game. Even the unlockable tack is a joke to the more serious horse gamer. Pink and purple saddles? Not interested. The minigames I found a bit useless as well. The only ones I liked were the race and the foal herding. I did think the showjumping courses were beautiful, but I would have liked more variety in the jumps. The cross-country courses were all too short, but did vary in the jumps. I would have to say dressage is the worst. Not really because of the controls (on PC it was a matter of pressing the arrow keys the right way), but because of, well to put it frankly, the ugliness of it all. The horse does not look pretty at all when it's time for the special moves, an extreme disappointment and almost insult to the sport. There were some graphical annoyances as well, but since I do not know how it looks on Wii, I won't go into it. Perhaps what I enjoyed most of the game was the videos you were able to unlock. Even though these were very short, I still watched them over and over (surprising since youtube offers a vast range of horse videos). It was not the best horse game and a much disappointment after loving the first, but it does include all three disciplines and a good game for younger girls (tweens and teens).

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She is almost 10 and takes riding lessons. She loves the game and plays it a lot with an older sister. It's perfect for winter and until riding lesson starts back up when the weather warms up. The graphics are very good and she figured the game out easily. I would recommend this game.

I bought this for my 11 year old horse lover about 6 months ago, and she is still playing this game without any loss of interest. The only draw back is that I thought 2 players could play simultaneously. Unfortunatley, they have to take turns, but thankfully I have 2 daughters that get along well and don't mind sharing! :)

My daughter is the main player at 12 yo. She would like more options for clothing -boot and clothes, tack, and horse breed/color. Figuring out how to saddle the horse is a little strange, easier interactive would be nice. she really likes the games and competitions, and the pastures to run in. Lessons are fun, but more of them and a larger pasture would be nice. She likes the grooming and taking care of the horse, again more options like lifelike would be nice. ie: Options to clean all the hooves. She would like to hear more/louder effects and choose from multiple riding disciplines. She keeps coming back to this one because you can choose to take care of the horse, and enjoys all the options that it does have. This is much better than the Barbie of the same.

I am an avid rider and by no means is this like riding but its fun and lighthearted. Good for younger generations and fun for us older folks who still have a competitive side to our riding ;)
