3 1/2 REALLY..., March 25, 2009
Hannah O'Shea has lived a century. She is a blood-witch - or baobahn sith, as the locals refer to in Scotland. She has lived in a remote island wanting solitude and peace.
Drake MacKay made a promise to Hannah; that he would hunt the fanatical and evil Luthias and then offer his life to her for her help in saving his niece Deidra and husband Stephen in MY IMMORTAL PROTECTOR.
When he returns to her island, a bored and despondent Hannah frees him from his promise. At a local tavern that night, Drake learns that the villagers are planning too lynch Hannah, so he goes back to warn her.
Realizing that Luthias is not dead, and he still on a psychopathic blood path, now not only to destroy all witches but also all blood-witches as well. It is forbidden for a blood-witch to kill and consume the blood of another, yet that is exactly what Luthias is doing.
A religious zealot, transformed into a blood-witch now, Luthias must be stopped at all costs, since now Luthias wants to exterminate all of Drake's family and Hannah as well.
This was a very fast paced and action packed paranormal. I will say that I liked MY IMMORTAL PROTECTOR better than MY IMMORTAL PROMISE. Both characters - Drake and Hannah were engaging though their relationship was an arduous and difficult one, as Drake blamed Hannah for not saving his wife and allowing her to die. He can't explain his attraction to her, even tough he despises what she is.
The love scenes were not great; quite flat and lackluster. Rushed through and left me feeling that for the most part it was wham-bam thank you ma'am every time Drake made love to Hannah - and I wouldn't even call it that! Which was disappointing. Yet, overall, I found this an appealing story, and was satisfied with the ending.

Very satisfied, February 20, 2011
This book is a sequel to "My Immortal Lover" ... it's very good and I had an enjoyable buying experience with seller. Very prompt, and nice e-mail. I just found it didn't QUITE live up to the first book. But I'll definitely buy from this seller again.

engaging paranormal romance, November 4, 2008
Her abusive husband is killing Hannah O'Shea. Her life is saved by a spirit who changes her from human into a "blood witch" immortal healer. However to stay alive Hannah must have human blood.
Eight decades later a desperate widower Drake MacKay begs Hannah to use her healing skill to save the life of a relative. He offers her his life in exchange with one stipulation; give him time to kill his enemy, Luthias, a baobhan sith like the local witch Hannah. Instead the lonely depressed Hannah frees him from his blood debt. When Drake learns of a threat from the villagers to kill Hannah, he abducts her to take her to safety stunned that she told the locals how to kill her. He is willing to die to keep her safe, but soon learns his family is threatened by a psychopathic Luthias. As they go to keep his blood safe, Hannah finds a reason to live; her love for Drake, who reciprocates her deep feelings.
This engaging paranormal romance stars two flawed protagonists struggling with a blood debt, a nasty villain, and love. Hannah makes the tale with her death wish making her the opposite of her peer Luthias whose death wish is to dine on human blood until his victim is dead. Jen Holling is at her best as readers will be hooked from the opening encounter as fans and Drake will wonder whether a baobhan sith blood sucker can truly be in love.
