About the Author
Hope Irvin Marston, a retired library media specialist, is the author of two adult books and twenty-five children’s books, including several books on wildlife. She lives in upstate New York with her husband Arthur, their exuberant boxer, and their laid-back golden retriever.
Maria Magdalena Brown, a nature lover, is an accomplished illustrator and designer. She has teamed up with Hope Irvin Marston on numerous projects to bring the books to life through her detailed and factual, yet entertaining illustrations.

I purchased this book in combination with the Burrowing Owl Puppet by Folkmanis so my four-year-old nephew could really learn about burrowing owls. This book is informative, interesting, and fun, giving realistic depictions of life for a family of burrowing owls. My nephew is very interested in learning the different types of owls and what they do day to day- We all learned from reading this great book!

Have a friend with a passion for these owls, she knows everything about them, so was concerned the book would be redundant. The book, a it turns out, has been the "best book ever"
Its cute, its fun and it perfectly captures the facial expressions the birds make in real life. More like a children's book than a research tome, but its illustrated well, and has a very short story. . Burrowing Owl Fans = its a must have.
