Book Description

August 16, 2011

My Little Paris is the favorite website of Parisian women (200,000 women in Paris are members). In their first book, the creators of the site share their best-kept secret addresses in this book, to be the first in a series. Oh so chic and a little bit naughty, just like Parisian women, this is THE book to slip into your handbag when you visit the city. It is an amazing concentration of brilliant Parisian addresses illustrated by funny, elegant drawings by Kanako, a Japanese artist who captures on paper the Paris we all dream of.

Fany, the founder of My Little Paris, always finds well-hidden gems in the urban Parisian jungle. In two years, word of mouth turned her site into a must-have for Parisiennes. Completely unknown addresses, secrets for those in the know, and easy little escapades just to get out of the rut; all of this and more can be found in My Little Paris!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun and info IMHO! November 1, 2011
Format:Paperback
I have no idea what the previous reviewer was expecting but I found MY LITTLE PARIS a delight and a must have. I even bought it in French sight unseen. I'm a daily subscriber to their newsletter, a kind of 'Daily Candy' for Paris so I was hooked right off.
It's written with Parisians in mind not us and dishes all the dirt on where to thread your eyebrows, fix your place up super-Parisian, have dinner in a one-table resturant, pretend you are a connoisseur, attend a crazy trial (yep you read right), dress like a VIP, rediscover forgotten veggies (Oh yes please), turn your kids into little Picassos, laugh out loud(?), be a guinea pig for a future 3-star-chef etc. bla bla bla.
Try out their newsletter first if you're not convinced.
Altogether a delight.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you want to learn more about Paris... December 3, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm going to start this review by saying that this book is not your typical guide book. You're not going to find out which restaurants are better and which hotels are cheaper. Instead, you will learn something about Paris that most guide books don't mention. The book is full of different tips about Paris - unique places to eat (a restaurant that has only one table??), unique things to do (fish pedicure, anyone?), unusual things to buy (knitted hats and scarves by a grandma of your choice), etc. If you've been to Paris and done tourist-y things but want to do something different on your next trip, or you're planning your first trip to Paris and want to do your own thing, this is the book for you. But even if you don't plan on going to Paris any time soon but still want to learn a few interesting things about beautiful Paris, you, too, will find this book useful. It's beautifully put together and full of fun illustrations.

Having just taken my first trip to Paris, I found this book in the apartment we stayed in and ordered it when we got back to the States. Love this book. It's fun to read and has some good ideas for travelers to Paris. Wish I had known about it before our trip.

1.0 out of 5 stars C'est bien domage! (It's too bad)
This book is not at all what it advertises to be. Titles like, "Have your Panties Delivered" offend me and what does that have to do with visiting Paris. Read more
