First of all, like most of the reviews, my just 3 yr. old daughter loves the castle, but it's a parental nightmare. The elevator that is supposed to move barely does (not even worth it) and the crown for the child is a joke. It falls apart. Honestly, I just threw it away. There are a lot of stickers for this. If you're buying this as a Christmas gift, you may want to assemble this the night before and grab your superglue because most of the "snap on" attachments just fall off. Superglue worked for us even though we find it to be a tacky alternative to the toy being made properly in the fist place.

You have to be kidding me! My daughter is majorly into My little pony, so she had to have the castle for her birthday. After hours of trying to understand the misleading directions I was totally frustrated. Nothing that "snaps" into place actually snaps or stays there. Nothing that "presses" is even remotely going to stay put (that's in reference to the turrets for those of you who have one...and why are all the holes there?). Try the word set instead. Set into place maybe. Is Hasbro crazy. For $40 I shouldn't have to put on 40+ stickers while a child crys to play with it. And the crown, don't even get me started. It's flexible and comes apart at the slightest touch. Don't understand the notches next to the holes on that one either. So many problems. But what are you to do when a child wouldn't part with it for their life. Try Liquid Nails...it worked for us. Just don't glue down the mote or you won't be able to change the batteries. Hasbro is getting a note on this one!

My daughter received this castle for her third birthday and immediately had to have it assembled at the party. Each of her friends helped put it together, which was a party game in itself. I saw the sheet of stickers and quickly hid them for later when she was asleep. I didn't read any reviews before purchasing this toy, and I'm glad I didn't-they would've scared me off completely. As a parent, be prepared to spend some time adhering the numerous stickers to the various parts of the castle. Also, be aware that all of the "attachments" such as the balloon, turret, balcony, steps, etc. DO NOT snap into place. I think they were made to detach easily rather than break off with play. I went to the Hasbro website and the problems with the turret and balloon not locking into place are due to a design change. The instructions had already been printed prior to the change. So, actually the instructions are the malfunction, not the pieces. My daughter and I just put the turret and balloon on the platforms when cleaning up after play, otherwise they stay on the floor where the ponies can climb into them. My daughter absolutely loves this toy. We have never had a problem with malfunctioning music, but the crown has been taped into place since it is not really wearable anyway. The two little pieces that snap onto the top of the castle could easily be left out if they don't stay on for your child. They won't even miss them. The elevator IS stiff, so just add a little oil. Also, people in the other reviews kept mentioning the little holes in the bottom of the balloon and turret. We have decided it's for the kids to get their fingers in when they are using the little rotating disc underneath, so they can manually manipulate it. Pink Sunsparkle, the baby pony included, is a very sweet little thing. Be prepared to purchase several other ponies to add to the fun!
