First of all, like most of the reviews, my just 3 yr. old daughter loves the castle, but it's a parental nightmare. The elevator that is supposed to move barely does (not even worth it) and the crown for the child is a joke. It falls apart. Honestly, I just threw it away. There are a lot of stickers for this. If you're buying this as a Christmas gift, you may want to assemble this the night before and grab your superglue because most of the "snap on" attachments just fall off. Superglue worked for us even though we find it to be a tacky alternative to the toy being made properly in the fist place.

You have to be kidding me! My daughter is majorly into My little pony, so she had to have the castle for her birthday. After hours of trying to understand the misleading directions I was totally frustrated. Nothing that "snaps" into place actually snaps or stays there. Nothing that "presses" is even remotely going to stay put (that's in reference to the turrets for those of you who have one...and why are all the holes there?). Try the word set instead. Set into place maybe. Is Hasbro crazy. For $40 I shouldn't have to put on 40+ stickers while a child crys to play with it. And the crown, don't even get me started. It's flexible and comes apart at the slightest touch. Don't understand the notches next to the holes on that one either. So many problems. But what are you to do when a child wouldn't part with it for their life. Try Liquid Nails...it worked for us. Just don't glue down the mote or you won't be able to change the batteries. Hasbro is getting a note on this one!

My daughter received this castle for her third birthday and immediately had to have it assembled at the party. Each of her friends helped put it together, which was a party game in itself. I saw the sheet of stickers and quickly hid them for later when she was asleep. I didn't read any reviews before purchasing this toy, and I'm glad I didn't-they would've scared me off completely. As a parent, be prepared to spend some time adhering the numerous stickers to the various parts of the castle. Also, be aware that all of the "attachments" such as the balloon, turret, balcony, steps, etc. DO NOT snap into place. I think they were made to detach easily rather than break off with play. I went to the Hasbro website and the problems with the turret and balloon not locking into place are due to a design change. The instructions had already been printed prior to the change. So, actually the instructions are the malfunction, not the pieces. My daughter and I just put the turret and balloon on the platforms when cleaning up after play, otherwise they stay on the floor where the ponies can climb into them. My daughter absolutely loves this toy. We have never had a problem with malfunctioning music, but the crown has been taped into place since it is not really wearable anyway. The two little pieces that snap onto the top of the castle could easily be left out if they don't stay on for your child. They won't even miss them. The elevator IS stiff, so just add a little oil. Also, people in the other reviews kept mentioning the little holes in the bottom of the balloon and turret. We have decided it's for the kids to get their fingers in when they are using the little rotating disc underneath, so they can manually manipulate it. Pink Sunsparkle, the baby pony included, is a very sweet little thing. Be prepared to purchase several other ponies to add to the fun!

First of all let me say that I have seen worse. This castle is about the quality of any of the mattel Barbie houses. We all know that when something needs to be assembled and pieces popped into place that sooner or later they will come off and have to be snapped back on,that's just the way it is.Secondly and most importantly(judging from most other reviews)the dreaded stickers.Yes there are quiet a few, however there are only 3 shapes-heart,star and circle. The good news about them is that they are made of the thicker silver holagram type material,so if a corner accidently sticks before you have centered it perfectly you can lift it back up w/out tearing the sticker. They are small and it is time consumeing(took me about 35 minutes) but there is a guide and the stickers are grouped into numbered cattagories.Assembly is also pretty basic and only took a few minutes. As for the hot air balloon, come on now.How many beach balls have you ever inflated that stayed inflated forever? That one is a given.I will say that the crown that comes with it is just plain crap!It is made of a rubbery sort of plastic and does not stay together well at all,but it really does not detract or add to the castle one way or the other. The turrets(balconies for balloon and crown) to me seem allright. They each have grooved sides that easily slide into place.I just love the music that is activated w/a pony.It plays the old MLP theme song. Some of the things that could have been better are the elevator(You just move it up and down w/your hand it could have had a handle or something to turn for movement),I also do not like the design of the spinnig dance wheel. All it is is a piece of round plastic w/a magnet to hold the pony on.It fits into a hole on the stage and you also just turn this w/your hand. Also when you place it on the stage it covers up the magnet that activates the music and lights. It would have been nice if it turned with the music.A carrying handle also would have been nice but over all I am not as disappointed as I thought I might be and for the sale price of 19.99 I think it is worth it.

My 4 yr. old daughter really wanted one for Christmas.Yes, I've read all of the reviews at Amazon....stuff falling off, nothing staying together, a gazillion stickers...I had to tell her that Santa might run out of them because i wasnt going to spend $40 on junk. Still she told everyone she was getting one for Christmas everytime she saw the cursed commercial. Then, Target had them on sale for $27.99. How could I break her little heart for 28 bucks...even if it did fall apart? So I bought one. A week before Christmas while she was in bed, I spent an hour putting on the stickers, so there wasnt too much to set up Christmas Eve. But I was ready....I listened to the reviews and had out my tube of super glue, but I really didnt need it! Everything stayed put. The ONLY problem I have with it is with the turrets. What's up with them? There's nothing to lock them into place, so they get knocked over constantly, and my balloon didnt blow up perfectly straight, but now im grabbing at straws. Its super cute, I know cuz i played with it while putting it together!! I love it everytime I hear her play the MLP music when the pony steps on the magical spot. Im glad I saw this on sale..it made my daughter VERY happy!

My 4 year old daughter got this for her birthday upon my request. First I should state that this immediately became her favorite toy. It's absolutely adorable. Cute castle, furniture and baby pony. She hasn't stopped playing with it for two weeks. However, from a Mom's point of view, it's bordering on a piece of junk. It takes a long time to get all the stickers on, but that's not really a big deal. The big problems are with the pieces that absolutely will not stay on, even with gentle play. The balconies fall off if you look at them funny. The elevator would be wonderful if the thing actually MOVED without having to jar the entire castle, which, of course, knocks off all the balconies and sends the furniture sailing in all directions. The crown is super-flimsy and keeps coming apart. The two tubs on the top aren't even connected to anything - they just sit on the top - so a lot of times they just randomly fall off. But even through it's many, many faults, my daughter thinks this is the greatest toy on earth.

We bought this for our daughter for Christmas shortly after her 3rd birthday. Assembly was a nightmare, there must be a million stickers to put on. The water fountain/pool that goes under the bridge falls off constantly as do all the other little parts that are not permanently attached. I think they do this so you can fold it away but even with the parts detached it doesn't fold well. The upper parts for the crown and hot air baloon come off at the slightest jerk of a young child playing which makes our daughter a little upset when she has a plan for the ponies to fly off in the baloon and the pieces have fallen on the floor several times. The crown is completely unusable, it doesn't fit well on the castle and comes apart when worn. All in all though, this has been a huge hit with my daughter who has nearly EVERY pony. She plays with it often and we got the "map" of ponyville (available through the mfg with "pony points") which shows where the castle, salon and cafe are to go and we play ponies for hours. It's great for imagination and pretend play.

This toy was at the top of my 3 year olds Christmas list last year and she still loves playing with it. I'm not sure why someone had to pay $59, they were retailing for $39 or less most places I checked. I do agree that there were a lot of stickers to put on but you can spend almost as much time just trying to free other toys from their packaging when they're wired onto the cardboard inserts. My daughter could really care less that some of the stickers have come off, in fact she has added a bunch of her own stickers to the castle. She also doesn't really care that some of the parts of the castle come off easily. I think it may have been designed like that intentionally so the parts wouldn't break off! These issues seem to be more of a concern to the adults writing the reviews than the kids that are playing with them. This remains a favourite toy even 1 year later unlike some other items on last years list.

I read the reviews too. My daughter said her ponies needed it and she talked about it for 3 monthes before her birthday. I figured I'd get the superglue out. I bought it for $40 before it went on sale here.My little girl got it last week for her birthday. It was the last gift that she opened and she was already worried because she hadn't gotten her castle yet. It's darling. It folds up nicely and hold most of her ponies (and she has a lot). It's a good toy. And, it was really easy to put together. Most of the stickers were already on and the other came with pictures. I put it together (because the reviews said it would be so hard) and then went ahead and took it back appart to put it back in the box. Alot of parts do fall off, but you can just stick them back on. I wasn't too conserned, but it's amazing how much it bugs a 4 year old when her toy breaks even if it's fixable. They must not be able to understand that broken things can be fixed. The only way to keep the crown on, is to snap it closed really tight and then wiggle it around the turret (but lower so the points of the turret are in the triangles of the crown). It looks fine that way. The stairs and the pink heart have come off a few times. The balloon keeps unsnapping and is off center. Read some of the bad reviews. I am really glad I read them and was warned or I'd be mad. So I knew I was spending too much on this toy (althought $30 now sounds fair), but I knew it was the one things she really wanted.

My three year old daughter received this as a very special gift. This toy appeared to have all the "fun" qualities. As soon as she sat down with her Daddy to play; the top of the castle fell in her lap.The Pony has fallen several times from a crumbling balcony. The heart crown which encircles one of the tops is manufactured very flimsy. The saving grace of this toy is the musical medley the Pony plays. She loves hearing the music. The frustration she encounters attemping to play with it is unbearable to witness. It will be brought back to its Toy Store home. I have several smaller Pony play sets and they are extremely durable. This particular toy was poorly designed, we all have our bad days.
