The music starts off with typical "my little pony" tune and then kind of rocks out a bit. But the big issue I have with it is that you cannot change the volume of the music. Even a simple music on/off toggle would be ok. It can be irritating to listen to over and over.
So four stars from me. If she plays in a room with closed doors--5 stars! lol.
Like someone mentioned--this can also come as part of the amusement park set, but we got it alone.
It turns around, it has the brighter colours which seem to go with the whole revamped ponyville concept. It is durable and hard wearing, like all Ponyville stuff seems to be. Stick your ponys in here and they turn around to the My little Pony Music. Much better to look out for the old fun park which came with a lot more stuff (roller coaster, swing, entrance kiosk and so on)
An okay piece for your little Pony-fan otherwise.
I bought this toy just prior to Christmas when I saw an excellent price on it, sort of as an impulse buy. I had been looking at it for awhile as my daughter loves My Little Pony, but I was skeptical about how long this toy would capture her attention. I was SO WRONG in thinking the toy wouldn't be played with for very long. She's played with it for days and seems to come up with a new story around it every day, at least. She shows no signs of losing interest in it yet, and it is the first thing she's been asking to play with when she wakes up in the morning.
I originally thought she'd put a few ponies in it and press the button a couple of times, watch it go around, and then get bored. Nope, not at all. She makes up stories, sets up other toys around it, changes the ponies in and out of it (the toy comes with one, but I bought her another Ponyville set to go with it so she'd have more ponies to give rides to, and then she received another set from a family friend) and generally has a great time with it. When we play with it together, I can see the kinds of things she's thinking about as they show up in elements of the stories she's making up for the ponies. It's really sparked a lot of imaginative play in her.
For those of you, like me, who tend to skip the instruction booklet, let me point out to you that there is a switch on the back of the toy.Read more ›
