4.0 out of 5 stars For Hard Core ABBA and Agnetha Fans Only
Agnetha has always been my favorite member of ABBA. Without a doubt, it is her I watch everytime I see clips of the group performing. Over the years, so much has been written about Benny and Bjorn's composing before, during and after ABBA that no one seems to remember what a talented songwriter Agnetha was early on in her career. Arguably, her early songs were better...

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy
I am sorry...I loved ABBA...I loved Agnetha but please, oh please do not buy this CD it is just horrible..not even my dad would enjoy it. C-class songs charged almost $42.00 bucks :(( This is not ABBA, this is not Agnetha or Frida or Benny or Bjoern...This is cheap marketing..so Do NOT BUY IT...it sucks...

4.0 out of 5 stars For Hard Core ABBA and Agnetha Fans Only, May 29, 2002

Agnetha has always been my favorite member of ABBA. Without a doubt, it is her I watch everytime I see clips of the group performing. Over the years, so much has been written about Benny and Bjorn's composing before, during and after ABBA that no one seems to remember what a talented songwriter Agnetha was early on in her career. Arguably, her early songs were better crafted than Benny & Bjorn's early efforts like "She's My Kind Of Girl" and "Hej Gamle Man." The first disc takes us through most of her pre-ABBA days and shows just how quickly her songwriting a voice developed. If you love Agnetha's voice, I mean really love it like I do, the fact that you may not happen to speak Swedish will not impair your enjoyment of this music. Heck, after a few listens, you may even start to sing along with the chorus of "Jag Var Sa Kar!" The second disc takes us through her final Swedish solo work before ABBA took off. One highlight is the 1979 return to solo writing that she did for a compilation of her hits called "Nar Du Tar Mej I Din Famn." If she had released the English version of this song (available on "That's Me-Greatest Hits" called "The Queen Of Hearts") with slightly better lyrics, Agnetha may have had an international hit on her hands. The rest of the second disc touches on ABBA highlights, and highlights of her post ABBA solo career in the 1980's. This album made me appreciate the talent that Agnetha posesses. She remains one of my all time favorite singers. Thankfully, she may be recording a new album late in 2002, demo recordings have already been made. So if you like "My Love, My Life," you'll want to keep your eyes open for her next project!

5.0 out of 5 stars A closer look at one of ABBA's leading ladies, Agnetha..., January 5, 2002

This compilation will most likely be more enjoyed by avid ABBA fans like myself rather than the novice listener. Those of you who know, Agnetha (pronounced Ahn-yay-tah)is the beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed siren that led one of the most popular recording groups in music history. Here, we peek into the vaults of her solo work, which in my opinion showcase her exceptional vocal texture and emotion. While she may not have the range of, say, Ella Fitzgerald or Aretha Franklin, she has a unique sound and a soul that befits any wonderful female vocalist. My personal favorite of this set is the song "Utan Dej Mitt Liv Gar Vidare". This ballad, while in Swedish, is arranged in a style not unlike Patsy Cline's "Crazy". I don't know what she is saying, but it sounds lovely to me! In summation, there are too many great songs here to write about. If you are a fan of ABBA or just want to listen to music in a foreign language, then this is just for you. I promise you will not be disappointed. I only write reviews on items that I know firsthand are good and this is definitely one of my personal favorites. If you don't beleive me, just read my review of "ABBA - The Definitive Collection". I love you Agnetha!

Agnetha always select the musics for her "the best" albums. So, there are no complete ones yet. But in this one, there are many swedish songs and they're great. If you already have the "That's me: Greatest hits collection", buy this one and you'll have almost all Agnetha's musics.

4.0 out of 5 stars AGNETHA FALTSKOG selected her favourite songs, February 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: My Love My Life (Audio CD)
ABBA's Agnetha selected her personal favourite songs. Songs recorded before, with and after ABBA. She was a big star in Scandinavia before joining the group in 1972. She sung in Swedish and scored many hits in her native country. After ABBA she recorded her songs in English and also did well in the charts selling more than four millions records on her own. This collection, focusses on her pre-ABBA period. All songs are well sung and charmingly written. Agnetha composed the mere part of the material. And she did it well. This collection is the perfect gift for the Agnetha and ABBA fan, but as it includes many Swedish songs it will miss the appeal for the rest of the world, which is a shame, because it showcases the best recordings of one of the most interesting voices of the seventies and eighties.

for those who are hoping that there'd be new recordings in this package, well literally, there is:a spoken word "introduction" in swedish.the letdown notwithstanding these tracks show how agnetha was before she pacted w/a group that some agruably say, changed the face of pop music.a pleasant surprise for the novice is the fact that a bulk of the material is written and produced by agnetha herself.her first single jag var kar ( i was so in love) would remind you of her idol, connie francis.making an appearance in this collection are her two kids singing one track w/her each.

4.0 out of 5 stars a must for the agnetha diehard, February 7, 1999

I don't understand a thing in swedish but for some reason, i find this package listenable. for those who have bought "tio ar med agnetha", this still is an essential purchase because of the previously unreleased tracks and, the first track on disc one features a youthful agnetha, untouched by fame & fortune singing in a demo (in swedish of course).a must for the agnetha die hard!

I enjoyed this CD very much. I do not understand Swedish, but still found this CD to be a great addition to my collection. Agnetha is one of the best voices I have ever heard. I hope she continues to release CD of this type. I loved her in ABBA but she is also unbeatable solo.

4.0 out of 5 stars Aggie, Aggie, and more aggie!!!, May 9, 2008

A fairly decent Swedish 2CD collection covering Aggie's entire career-Swedish, English, ABBA, kids albums, and non album tracks. A 3Cd version of this collection was also made available (but not in stores). The 2CD set has 25 songs from the pre- 1980 Swedish career, but the 80's English stuff is not covered, as well, since space is spent by including some ABBA songs.

Some non- Aggie album tracks are featured including the singles "Never Again,',The Way You Are, and" Its So Nice To Be Rich" . The B-side" P&B" can not be found on either this album or the later THAT'S ME collection.

This collection was compiled by Aggie and Michael Tretow. . Every Agnetha fan should have at least this album or TIO AR MED. Aggie's
Swedish work is her best solo work.

Agnetha Faltskog is the best singer in the world, period. Her wonderful voice is just the thing to lift one's spirits during the hour long drive home after a long day at the office. It matters not a bit that the songs are in Swedish and German; after having listened to the CD a few times, one quickly picks up the tunes and looks forward to hearing each song again.
