The woman comes out of the girl., June 11, 2004

This review is from: My Love Is Like...Wo (Audio CD)
This song was the lead single of her 2003's cd "Moodring". This song became a fast hit for Mya, peaking at #13 in Billboard's Hot 100. I have to be honest that I wonder why it didn't make it at least to the Top 10, but well sometimes not all the good songs get that high.
On this cd you'll find "My love is like wo" (album version), Mya's 2000's hit "Case of the ex", "A little too much, little too late" and the "My love is llike...wo" video, which is very good and was nominated for 2 Mtv music video awards and was called one of the best videos of 2003.
I'd also recommend you Mya's "Fallen" single that also includes the song's video and finally her album "Moodring" which is very good.

This is a great comeback song for Mya. It shows how much she has grown over the years. Great song, as well as her new song Fallen.

Can You Handle This?, January 30, 2008
This review is from: My Love Is Like...Wo (Audio CD)
This single is filled with great songs from her album Moodring, and Fear of Flying. Musically it's packed with bounce, funk, and dance beats. Theme wise it's filled with attitude, confidence, and sexy vibes. It has the title track-"My Love Is Like... Wo", Case Of The Ex, Little Too Much, Little Too Late with the enhanced video of "My Love Is Like...Wo". This is recommended for the listener who loves dance music, R&B, pop, or want to feel uplifted or enlightened by the life-lessons evoked. This single has fabulous singing by Mya showcasing that her vocals are soulful yet soft on the listening.
My favorite track is "Little Too Much, Little Too Late" as it reflects the moods I can relate to at this point in my life. Sometimes a lover or friend may want to come back but the truth is once trust is lost then it's extremely difficult to go back--a little too much a little too late. Mya sings so beautifully and with such stress on the meanings that it marks the message and brings the feelings to the spotlight with much appeal. The beats are mellow mid-tempo to up-tempo.
"My Love Is Like...Wo" is another excellent song as Mya describes her love as being like "wo". Mentioning her assets inner and outer displaying some seduction but not overtly suggestive to degrade or sound trashy. On the contrary, it's empowering to feel such great thoughts about oneself and at the same time sing it so convincingly. She nails the vocals and the music just makes it more resoundingly hot.
"Case Of The Ex" is a song many can relate to. On most love cases, there's always that other lover from the past popping back. This has Mya relaying the message that there's no point in the past --she is annoyed at the other girl. "Whatcha gon' do when you can't say no and her feelings start to show/Boy I need to know...:" The beats are fast, bouncy, and definitely with funky R&B rhythms, and dance vibes all over.
