**********10 stars is more like it!Matt Catingub has a rare talent for pulling together a fantastic group of musicians and finding their strengths individually, and as a group. Mavis Rivers' wonderful voice adds to the depth of the orchestra, bringing a beautiful range of sound to a very "together" organization. ...and you can understand the lyrics, too! I enjoy all the CD's I've found so far, and will be "playing holes" in them for a long time! Thanks, Matt! Thanks, Ms. Rivers!

Lots of great solos,

5 saxes, 5 trumpets, 5 trombones, and a 5-piece rhythm section. Mavis Rivers sings on "Nobody else but me", "I got it bad", and "Teach me tonight". The incomparable Buddy Childers (trumpet) lets it all out on "A salute to Elvis Constello". You'll probably recognize a few of the other great soloists on this CD as well. The recording quality is excellent. I give it 4 out of 5, as I was hoping for a tighter sound from the group. If you enjoy big band music, I recommend adding it to your collection.
