This book, like most PK Hallinan books, is really sweet but I was disappointed to find the church part of the rhyme and the God and heaven reference. This was not mentioned in any description of the book that I read prior to ordering it. As a Jewish mother I can't read to my daughter that "We like to dress up on Sundays to go to church"...that would be a bit confusing.

This brightly illustrated book makes me happy to be a mother. The book is well-written in simple language with beautiful pictures. My 2-year-olds love the different activities that are highlighted in the book, since they pertain to their everyday life.

This book, and the others in the series, are wonderful! They paint a great view of family relationships that little ones can relate to. The pictures are bright and fun to look at and the rhymes are darling. The author really picks up on a child's view of the world, with an encouraging portrayal of God's love displayed in our relationships. I highly recommend these books!

This is my favorite book to read my son. I absolutely love the author, PK Hallinan. All PK Hallinan books are great. I haven't been disappointed in one yet. The book's content is so sweet and really details a love between a mother and child. The book's text rhymes allowing the child to really keep his/her interest no matter the age. I started reading this to my son at birth! At 9 months, he just loves it. It's a great book for someone who appreciates the relationship between child and parent, and everyone and God.

I have bought other books written by P.K. Hallinan and thought they were cute. This one is just as good. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and fun. The story is great. I love the last line about mommy and child being linked at the heart. This is a must have for parents and children.

My 18 month old wants this book read a few times a day. She likes the pictures and points to the mommy on every page. she never gets bored and is fully engaged. We have other PK Hallinan books and my daughter loves them all. I didn't even know they are religious books until I read that in a review. There isn't even mention of God in this book. It is just kind and positive about spending time together.

Someone bought us "My Daddy and I" and I just loved that book so when I saw the same author had one for Mommies, I just had to get it. My son just turned 2 and has been enjoying both of these books for a few months now. I would highly recommend them to others =)

P.K. Hallinan has the wonderful talent of writing children's books. He keeps my granddaughter's attention (not an easy task, I assure you.) There is always a lesson to be learned in each book. Love 'em!

My 18 old daughter loves her books, and this is one of her favorites. My Mommy & I and My Daddy & I are excellent tales with nice flow. While my husband and I are not religious, we find that the references to church and God acceptable since it only expands our daughters knowledge of the world around her.

My husband bought this for our daughter because his mother bought "My Daddy and I" and he didn't want me to feel left out. Anyway, this is a cute book with vibrant illustrations. It is very sturdy which is fantastic since my daughter has a tendency to chew on books and wave them around holding only one page.

As for the content, it is a list of things that Mommy does with her children. From playing with balloons, bedtime stories, going shopping, eating ice cream, and playing at the park, Mommy and her children have tons of fun. Also, Mommy is there when the children are sick, scared or crying. I love the line, "Her love is the sunshine that comforts my days." And I love how it ends, ""We're joined at the heart, my mommy and I."

FYI -- There is a mention of going to church and of praising God, so if you are not religious, this book may not be the right one for you.

Also, in the front of the book is a dedication page for you to write the child's name and your own.
