My oldest son, age 2 is simply amazed by this book. We try to find hidden things throughout the book, which is attributed to this marvelous job of illustration. It has vivid colors and allows me to teach my son about different insects, reptiles, etc.. He especially loves the clever use of words such as "beastball" that create a fun reading session for the two of us. The author has a good use of rhyme and creates an atmosphere of warmth and love in the family as the theme is about the love a mother has for her child. I would recommend this book to anyone as my son is addicted, wanting me to read it to him constantly.

It's about time! I'm so glad there are books out there like this to help children see that monsters don't have to be scary! (Now parents all over the world can sleep better knowing their child won't wake them up at 2:00 am saying "there's a monster in the closet; I'm scared!" Well hey, one less thing!)

Bravo to Laura Leuck and Mark Buehner! The story and the illustrations are both hiliariously entertaining! Plus I think it helps kids relate to the fact that there are lots of different and yes even unusual types of people and families but hopefully they all love each other the way THE MONSTER MAMA loves her little monster! Also it reminds me as a parent that spending QUALITY TIME with my child is what lets her know I love her! It is truly all the countless "little things" you do for your child that add up. So go bake some cookies (but hold the bugs please!)

I highly recommend this book for adults as well as children! You'll both enjoy MY MONSTER MAMA LOVES ME SO, I guarantee it. Childrens' books have come a long way since I was a child! Adults can get a laugh and moral out of them too! After all, that is what books are for--to entertain and to teach.

Our two year old loves this book. Lucky for us it is also an adult pleaser because she wants to read it several times a day. It's a wonderful way to make any monster warm and cuddly.

We love this book! It is so sweet & the pictures are wonderful! The rhythm of this book keeps my son giggling!

My family just loves this book. The words and story are really cute and the pictures are fabulous. There are hidden pictures on every page and lots to look at for reading and re-reading. I got this when my 2 year-old son was going through a "scared of monsters" stage. It helped him to see that the monster in the book does the same things we do, like eat breakfast and go to the swimming pool "swamp". He even has a pet(spider) to take care of! It is a very non-scary monster book. I highly recommended it if you have a child that is afraid of monsters. Parents will get a kick out of the story also. Great, great, great!

My 4 yr. old daughter loved this book from the first time we read it. She loves to hear how the Monster Mama takes care of her little monster. The story is a loving and gentle poitrait of a mothers love. Embedded in the story are the routines of everyday life (i.e. brush your fangs, eat health food, exercise, tuck me into bed). The illustrations provide lots of opportunity for talking about the story and the characters. My daughter loves the swamp scene and has made a story all her own about that scene. She loves to say, "Icky" when we talk about lizard juice with ice and cookies made with bugs. The last pages lets us end with a big monster moma hug. The I get to tweek her nose and her tickle her pointy toes.

This book is a lot of fun. I don't know who enjoys it more, me, or my 4-year old son. The things the monster momma does to show her monster child she loves her are hilarious - like giving her "lizard juice with ice" to be extra nice when she is sick.

I love this book. Once again another cute story from the author and illustrator. I read this to my 10 month old son who likes the pictures. (He also loves "Snowmen at Night".) I do not know what else to say but it belongs in our personal library!! Well Done.

I grew up with a mom who is an elementary school librarian and has her Master's in Library Sciences, and have been exposed to MANY wonderful books. Even though I wasn't familiar with this book, I stumbled upon it and decided to give it a try. The pictures are wonderfully bright and interesting and the story line is a wonderful classic tale of how much a mother loves her child. Since I have become a mother, I love to find books expressing love for a child. This one fits the bill perfectly, with a silly twist, and my daughter loves it. She is very young, but the pictures are so vivid, they hold her attention well. I recommend this book highly.

We checked this book out at the library, and within 2 days, I'd read it enough times that my two year old had memorized it, and was "reading" it to me. We had to buy a copy, it has become one of his favorite books. He loves when I tweak his nose, and tickle his toes, and when he's feeling sick, I ask him if he wants lizard juice on ice and he laughs and laughs. Oatmeal raisin cookies have been renamed as cookies with bugs, trips to the pool are now adventures in the swamp, and rainy days have become "hot dog" days.

This is a charmingly written, beautifully illustrated book that I highly recommend for every little monster.
