i've got to disagree with that first review. i don't think her popularity is dwindling at all, first of all. and no, lots of american artists are so much more blatant and...just vulgar, i guess. if you know what the lyrics in boa's songs are, i don't think you'd be saying that. beat, maybe, but whose beats aren't similar these days? overall, it's a pretty good album.

I disagree with the first reviewer. I think BoA is a great artist! :) I listen to a lot of different artists, and she is one of my favorites. I have several of her albums, and I like the "My Name" cd a lot because she sings with more "attitude". Plus, most of the songs have stronger beats/rhythm and faster tempo than her past cds. Just my honest opinion, that's all.

Boa has done it yet again. She has an amazing voice and she truly shows it here on her album. Her newest single Do the Motion is great 2 I haven't herd an album from her yet that I didn't like. I also recommend her other albums- Atantis Princess,Love and Honesty,Don't start/Jumping into the World. plus all the rest.

"My Name" is easily one of BoA's best albums. It features several of her hits and has a nice mix of fast and slow songs. If you had to buy only a few of her CD's I would recommend that this be one of them. You won't be disappointed!
The jacket inside is one of the most unique of her CD's. It pulls apart into separate pieces (as long as you're buying the Japanese version and not the Chinese) as if they were meant to be mounted on the wall. I would recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys Jpop. This CD premiered during the middle of BoA's current career and features a pop sound compared to her later R&B feel.

With BoA's popularity in Korea dwindling you would think they would put out some descent material.This album is just carbon copied american artists.Many of the songs sound like last years top 40.Not that its a bad thing.Stand out tracks
My Name Spark I Dont Give a Damn I Kiss Maybe Maybe Not Most of the songs are sickly sweet ballads.The tracks above really stand out. |
