Tompall Glaser is the forgotten outlaw. Everyone remembers Willie and Waylon, but Tompall made records every bit as good as theirs, and helped developed the classic 'Outlaw' sound in his infamous Hillbilly Central studio, where the window shutters were always closed and the door was always open. Bear Family now presents his four reissued MGM/Polydor LPs on two CDs (Vol. 2 available as BEA #16520). All of his biggest hits are on these CDs, including Charlie, T For Texas, and of course Put Another Log On The Fire, which was one of the highlights of the classic Wanted: The Outlaws LP. Tompall didn't score as many hits as Waylon 'n' Willie, but the dry insolence in his voice made up the sound that others adopted. CD with 36-page booklet.

I have been a fan of Tompall for many years and was not dissapointed in any way with this remastered cd, it was excellent and would recommend it to the purist of country music fans

Tompall is the most underrated and least heard of the Outlaw movement that included Waylon and Willie. I rank him right up there with them. I have all of his stuff on vinyl and was so glad when this, along with the 'Put Another Log on the Fire" compilation was released. He has a fantastic voice and these releases will hopefully introduce him to a whole new generation of fans................ great stuff.

If there was ever an album that discribes a country way of life this CD does. I believe that there is a favorite song in here for anyone and every song has that unmistaking wonderful sound of Tompall Glaser and his brothers.
