Advice and detailed information are offered about such important life skills as finding a job, living on a budget, living with a roommate, caring for a pet, and the responsibilities of car ownership. Several chapters deal with health-related topics--exercise and nutrition, health insurance, personal safety, alcohol and drug abuse, and depression and suicide. There are also chapters devoted to charity, discussing the need to give back by volunteering or donating blood, and to good citizenship, encouraging readers to vote and become involved in the political process.
