5.0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE MALE VOCALIST! This man is gifted!!, June 16, 1998

Beautiful Contemporary Music. Very soulful music coming from a white blonde blue eyed boy. Oh please get this album because the first song is well worth it. The rest of the album is great too. Funky, Blues, Ballads, Soul, Great. That's my opinion of this album. Other Favorite songs include, "Your Love Is Working In My Life" "I Call Your Name" "I Surrender All (it'll give ya goosbumps!!)" "One Heart - Duet with Kathy Troccoli (Absolutely Beautiful Song)" "Midnight Cry (Listen to this song and KNOW that we WILL hear the midnight cry)"

5.0 out of 5 stars An Underrated Debut, October 19, 2002

Clay Crosse's debut album, in my opinion, was (and still is) underrated by critics, Christian music stations, and the Christian public in general.

Released in 1993, only one song on this album ("Midnight Cry") refers to Jesus by name. The reamining songs refer to Jesus or to God indirectly. At the time, this created a backlash against Clay Crosse in the Christian community. Keep in mind, this was before Christian artists, like Amy Grant, made entire albums that not only did not refer to Jesus or God by name, but also had little to do with either or them. (To this day, Christian radio stations play Amy Grant's "Baby Baby" more often than all Clay Crosse songs combined.)

Ironically, while there was a backlash in the Christian community, there was something resembling acceptance in the secular community. The title track, "My Place Is With You," received (and continues to receive) regular play rotation on secular music stations.

Clay Crosse has a soulful voice that shines through on every song in this album. Starting with the title track, his sound invites you to sit back, relax, and just listen. His songs do have a message, and his style subtly works that message through to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Place Is With You by Clay Crosse, January 5, 2007
This review is from: My Place Is With You (Audio CD)
I too find this album way underrated. I knew when I bought it, he was a Christian artist. . . in fact, that is why I bought it! I do not have to hear him use Jesus or God in every song for it to deeply and spiritually speak to me. I KNOW who the artist (Clay Crosse) is referring to in these beautiful songs. I know it in my heart and in my spirit. This album has been such a blessing to me. I absolutely love "I Surrender All". If you listen to the words (to any of these songs), you will know in your spirit and feel God's love. I wish so much that they played more of them on Christian radio stations.
