4.0 out of 5 stars Different
I think this song was very different from previous songs from Mandy Moore.

Track 1 is "In My Pocket (Album Version)" This is the one you would hear on the album or on the radio.

Track 2 is "I Wanna Be With You (Live On MTV)" I didn't really liked this one because it was too slow for my liking.

Track 3 is "In My Pocket (Hex Hector 7"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Its the music, not the singer.
Moore's voice is definitely not bad, but in this case, its all about the music. The Arab beat, the melody is what cuts it here, not the lyrics. Which is why the Thunderpuss remix, in this case - is alright and doesn't bring much to the table. I applaud whoever produced this song, a blend of Shakira, Ofra Haza and bubble-gum pop.

Track 3 is "In My Pocket (Hex Hector 7" Mix) This mix is a bit slower than the Album version, but still danceable. This could of been longer.

Track 4 is "In My Pocket (Thunderpuss Club Mix)" and it's my favorite! It starts out with some drums and with Mandy's voice a little in the background. Then it changes it's tune. Usually Thunderpuss' remixes make you want to get up & dance, this is not exception.

I recommend this single, espeically for the Thunderpuss Club Mix.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thunderpuss turn the track UP!, June 29, 2001
This review is from: In My Pocket (Audio CD)
It was such a shame that 550 tried to rush Mandy Moore forward a an adult artist and shut down the playful teen so soon; "So Real" was such a perfect pop gem. Now however, the adult transition kicks in and Mandy leaves Britney far behind with this first-rate, dynamite new track. Written and produced by Emilio Estevan & co down in Miami, the track explodes with a Middle Eastern flavour, reminiscent of Paula Abdul's gorgeous "My love is for real". The song is simple -2 short verses and a catchy chorus, and Mandy still sounds a lot younger than she looks but the track hits so good because it sounds so fresh and exciting and it's so insanely catchy, you can't escape it! Hex Hector turns in a tried-and-tested sound for his remix. It's good but it doesn't compare to the absolutely fabulous, knock-'em-dead, Remix Of The Year by Thunderpuss. Almost 10 minutes of fabulosity -it's a total Mandy-Fest with banging bass lines, dark thundering beats and devastating dance-floor excitement!! This is the Real Deal! Buckle-up Baby >> You're gonna LOVE it! As for the unplugged version of "I wanna be with you": pur-leasssssssse! Why pin Mand as a Serious Songstress?! Enough already! The song is sweet but leave it at that. Now ... back to the good stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mandy Moore, "In My Pocket" [Australian CD Single], November 29, 2004
This review is from: In My Pocket (Audio CD)
I believe that this was the first single from Mandy Moore's 2001 album, "Crush". "In My Pocket" was never released in the US - only as an import in Australia. The album version of this track is a bit weird at first, I must admit, but after time, one adapts well to it. The second track is a live on MTV version of Mandy's touching ballad, "I Wanna Be With You". The third track, Hex Hector's Main 7" (Radio Mix) of "In My Pocket" is a little too predictable, but with time, it becomes catchier and nicer to listen to. It reminds me of LeAnn Rimes', "Can't Fight The Moonlight". I'd give Hex 3.5/5 stars on this one. The final track is the absolutely phenomenal Thunderpuss Club Mix of "In My Pocket", clocking in at just under 10 minutes. What can I say about this mix? It blows my mind! They did an awesome job. I would give this single 4.5 stars (due to the somewhat blandness of Hex's mix), but since I must round to a whole number of stars, I will round up. If you enjoy Thunderpuss remixes, or are a die hard Hex Hector/Thunderpuss fan, then pick this up. Track listing is:

01. In My Pocket [Album Version] 3:38
02. I Wanna Be With You [Live on MTV] 3:05
03. In My Pocket [Hex Hector Main 7" (Radio) Mix] 3:24
04. In My Pocket [Thunderpuss Club Mix] 9:56

Good job Mandy, great job Thunderpuss!!! (Good thinking Epic Records)

5.0 out of 5 stars Mandy Moore and Thunderpuss!, June 4, 2002

This review is from: In My Pocket (Audio CD)
Mandy Moore's "In My Pocket," is a servicable pop ditty that isn't terrible, but could use a little spice. But Chris Cox and Barry Harris give the teen queen's single a danceable edge that makes it impossible to resist. Good remixes don't simply add a dance beat to a song, but they should reveal the hidden talents of the singer. In the case of "In My Pocket," Mandy Moore's voice sounds more convincing when it's set to Thunderpuss's mix. Highly recommended; the Thunderpuss mix alone is worth the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars More Mandy Please, March 21, 2002
By
Leon (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In My Pocket (Audio CD)
Mandy's first single from her second official self titled is an up tempo track with an eastern influence. This single was relatively successful in Australia achieving gold sales thanks largely to Mandy's promo tour backing up strong airplay. The track listing for the single is as follows:
1. In My Pocket (Album Version) 3.44
2. I Wanna Be With You (Live) 3.02
3. In My Pocket (Hex Hector 7'' Main Mix) 3.24
4. In My Pocket (Thunderpuss Club Mix) 9.36
The first track is of course the version which everyone has heard of. The second track is a live performance of Mandy's third hit single from her last album of the same title "I Wanna Be With You". This subdued performance is good as it is only backed up by a guitar. We can actually hear Mandy's voice clearly but the second verse has been skipped hence making the song a short 3 minutes and 2 seconds. Hex Hector's remix of the song is okay but the stand out would have to be, without a doubt, Thunderpuss Club Mix. Though the time seems like it's long but because it's constantly changing, the song would be finished before you even realize it because it's so entertaining. Overall, a well worth purchase and this is really something new and refreshing from Mandy Moore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best!, June 28, 2001
This review is from: In My Pocket (Audio CD)
Mandy's first single "In My Pocket" from her new self-titled album is just wonderful. It has this sort of middle-eastern feeling to it and has attitude to it. The beat is very catchy and will have you craving to hit the dance floor in no time. There are two remixes in where one is about 9 minutes long and is incredible! There is also a live acoustic version of her other hit "I Wanna Be With You." The video is also awesome and she goes all out in it. I love the song and there's no other song out there that is like this one today. Request it at your fav. radio station! I reccommend that you buy the album better. It has 12 other electrifying songs on it. Mandy rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Single, June 24, 2001
By
Chris S. "cscotts" (atlanta, ga United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In My Pocket (Audio CD)
Armed with her finest single to date, Mandy Moore is poised to take herself a notch above such plastic comtemporaries as Britney Spears and that most deliberate of soulless pop offenders, Jessica Simpson. Forsaking the usual clutch of high profile teenypop producers and instead thinking outside of the box, Emilio Estefan was brought in with this potent slice of Middle Eastern pop, which along with NSync's equally superb 'Pop', stands head and shoulders above any of the usual glut that's permeating airwaves now. If there's any justice left in the world, this fine single will put Moore into closer commercial proximity with the overrated Spears and her gaggle of soundalike clones, though make no mistake, creatively she's light years ahead of any of those people. Equally fine here is the two remixes by Thunderpuss and Hex Hector, as well as a great live rendition of her previous hit 'I Wanna Be With You'. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars How Much For Your Love???, August 2, 2001
This review is from: In My Pocket (Audio CD)
With Mandy Moore's hot middle eastern sounding hit "In My Pocket" she has proved herself worthy of musical talent. Mandy also makes brighter horizons for the clubs with the 2 remixes of "In My Pocket" that are featured on this import single. For those of you who love Mandy's previous work there is also a recorded live performance of "I Wanna Be With You"!

Track Listing:

1.) In My Pocket (Album Version) = This is the irresistible original version of the song which features the hot dance break in the middle of the song. Who could ask for moore when Mandy Moore is setting trends for other artist with the middle eastern sound on this track.

2.) I Wanna Be With You (Live On MTV) = This is the breathtaking acoustic version of "I Wanna Be With You" not that the original wasn't breathtaking but this one was recorded live and not in the studio.

3.) In My Pocket (Hex Hector Main 7' Mix) = This remix is lighter than some of Hex Hectors other work, however, the remix does concentrate on being more up-tempo and sounding great with Mandy's vocals.

4.) In My Pocket (Thunderpuss Club Mix) = This is by far my favorite remix of "in My Pocket" and is worthy of being called a club mix. This remix doesn't have those tacky drum beats that gets old after using them on 12 dozen other songs. This remix has a great beat that just makes you wanna move, in fact I dance while listening to this remix all the time. This remix also lives up to the original by having two completely different breaks.

While listening to Mandy Moore you shall grow to the level of maturity like the soundings of "In My Pocket", but for some reason if you don't, than maybe you have some growing up to do. Mandy wants to know "How much for your love" but I think its free since she bewitched you all with the irresistible "In My Pocket"!

5.0 out of 5 stars Moore's Fourth U.S. Single, August 8, 2004
This review is from: In My Pocket (Audio CD)
Mandy Moore came out with three great American singles ("Candy", "I Wanna Be With You", & "Walk Me Home") from her first CD, "So Real" (1999), & its special edition disc, "I Wanna Be With You" (2000). I never imagined them being followed up by such a different-sounding album & single ("Mandy Moore" & "In My Pocket"). "In My Pocket" is an awesome, edgy Middle-Eastern-like hit. However, this CD single does not contain "In My Pocket" (Live on MTV). It's actually the acoustic version of "I Wanna Be With You" instead. I don't mind at all because I honestly love the track! There are two fantastic dance remixes of "In My Pocket" & I really feel that Pop lovers would enjoy them. They're full of zest & spunk & Mandy's voice sounds awesomely sexy & carries great tune.
