Eleven-year-old Emerald Cooper loves Aaron Davis, who is ten years her senior and only sees her as a close friend of the family. At the turn of the 20th century, a time when women could not enter into a man's world, she could not let him know how she felt before he left on a venture. About the Author
Belinda Jo Adams was born in Georgia. She met her husband, Steve, while they attended the same church in Fernandina, Florida. They married in 1971. They have lived in several states, moving with Steve?s job. At the time of writing this book, they lived in Ohio. Belinda attended church most of her life and accepted Jesus as her Savior at age 25. As a freelance writer, she has been published in various magazines and has other books published, including, Beyond the Mountains and Silent Love. She is also a sign language interpreter and teacher, so likes to include a deaf character in her stories.

This book has a compelling storyline that weaves a tender love story into a captivating historical background. The love that Emmy finds when she learns to wait on the Lord is surpassed only by the all-encompassing love and grace of God.
