OK, I'll admit up front that I'm a huge Rick Springfield fan..... and have been for almost 35 years now. If RS puts out a cd, I have to get it.
I love 'em all. This one completely blew me away. It is absolutely beautiful! My kids are past the lullaby stage (12 and 15 today!), but it makes great background music for any time. 'Another Rainy Night' is one of my 'desert island' songs already.... Love the whole cd. And Rick's love for his own kids comes through loud and clear. 'My Precious Little One' is a must have!

So "Precious" And So Wonderful,

Okay ... when you think about Rick Springfield, what's the first thing which comes to mind?
The rock-'n-roller who sings those power rock songs that make you want to get up and move, right? But... who'd have thought that Rick the rocker can also write tender lullabies? "My Precious Little One" is a collection of lullabies Rick wrote for his two sons, and they're sweet, whimsical and utterly charming, perfect for parents who have tried to get their kids to go to sleep, as well as for the rest of us who want to hear something calming, relaxing and soothing before we go to bed. At first, I admit that I was rather skeptical about a lullaby album from Rick, but the more I listen to it, the more I'm enchanted by it, especially by the imagery and whimsey which fills these songs. And this is an album which all ages can enjoy. "My Precious Little One" is truly a labor of love from a father who's absolutely crazy about his kids, and who loves them dearly. I love this CD, and I think you will, too.

Great relaxing music, even if you don't have little ones,

I have been a LONG time fan of Ricks, and own pretty much every thing he has put out, so I had to buy this cd. It is a lovely compilation of lullabies~and left me wishing I still had little ones to play it for every single night before they went to bed. I love listening to the songs, and hearing how much Rick's voice has matured, yet stayed the same after all these years. The cd is relaxing and calming, and perfect for anyone of all ages! If you have children, no matter what the age~ you will love these songs!

Such relaxing music - and great for all ages!,

My whole family has been loving this CD, and I don't even have very young children anymore (ages 5 and 9). The 9 year old likes to have this CD play as background music while he does homework and as he's winding down for bed. My 5 year old always is listening to music, and it's great to have this CD as an option to help him calm down. My kids are too old for traditional lullabies, but they'll listen to these songs happily. They're contemporary enough to be OK in their eyes, yet they're very soothing at the same time. As an adult, I'm also enjoying them. They help me relax!

If you had told me when I was 13, and listening to Rick Springfield sing about "sweatin' and screamin' and tearin' out his heart," while I screamed maniacally from the nosebleed section, that one day I would use an album of his personal lullabies to soothe my own wee daughter to sleep, I would have stared at you in jaw dropping shock. However, now that I am "all grown up" and still have a very special place in my heart and soul for Mr. Springfield and his melodies, it tickles me to have this precious collection of songs to play for her. Tonight when I tucked her in, she chose this one over her other favorites, (The Wiggles and the Biscuit Brothers.) Believe me, I had nothing to do with swaying her, the girl has a mind of her own. In any case, the songs are at once intimate and sentimental and just right for my little Eleanor. (Who was not named for the Zoot cover of Eleanor Rigby). And she drifted peacefully off to slumber, without keeping the sandman waiting, and that, after all is the point. If Mom gets a little thrill out of the fact that the songs come from her old flame, so much the better. Although her daddy says that these are the only Rick Springfield songs she'll be allowed to listen to until she's 18. Daddy doesn't like that line about "this angel's gonna spread her wings tonight." Come to think of it, my daddy never liked that line either. This is a great collection, very delicate and sweet, the gentle, softer side of Rick. Enjoy.

Wonderful,,

I have been a Rick Springfield fan since 1983 so maybe im a little biased but these songs are so beautiful and relaxing. The songs are as much for adults as they are for children. The title song brought tears to my eyes remembering watching my newborn son sleeping. The others are so well written and arranged. Matt Bissonettes backround vocals swirl around the songs and fit like a glove to Ricks awesome lead. Im past the time to be having any more children but too early for grandchildren but I will recommend this cd to all my younger friends who are becoming mothers and fathers. I wish I had this cd when my son was born. I could have related so much better than Barney.

This is beautiful CD for parents and children. The kids love it, and so do we. Also, all the friends we've given it to love it also! Rick did an excellent job!

This is such a fantastic CD! After a bad day, when I'm lying in bed and can't shut off the days events, I put the head phones on and listen to this CD for relaxation. I'm always asleep after a few songs! His vocals on this CD are so soothing! Shows what he can do when he's not blaring out the rock 'n' roll! I've used other Rick music to help me into a good mood, to energize me, to get motivated to do things...this just adds to the reasons I love Ricks writing!

It's not "Barney"!,

This is such a great piece of work, letting us see just a bit of what it was like for Rick during the time he was "off" raising his two cute little boys. I actually cried listening to the title song, knowing his dad died before he ever saw his grandsons. I'm sure that was a very difficult time for Rick as his dad wasn't around anymore to give him "fatherly" advice. I bought a copy for my daughter, waiting for her to have her first child in a year or two.

As an avid Springfield fan, I just had to get this CD. Although, it is not his usual style of music, it was quite relaxing and relatable. I could just picture him in his sons bedroom writing and singing these songs. They portray the kind of father that he is.
