More About the Author

Nancy Matthews is 34 year old wife and mother with cystic fibrosis (CF) and diabetes. She has been waging a battle with CF, a terminal genetic disorder, for many years. In January of 2007, Nancy's body entered the end stages of CF. On December 10, 2008 she received the miracle of a double lung transplant at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Nancy holds a BA in Psychology and an MSEd in Counseling, both from St. Bonaventure University (SBU). She has many years of experience working with students with disabilities at the University and served as SBU's Coordinator of Disability Support Services from 1999 to 2007.

Nancy led numerous vocational reflection groups while at SBU, helping students to explore their vocational calling. She also taught an introductory course titled The Meaning of Life that challenged students to discover and author their own life philosophy by recognizing the truly significant things in their lives.

Using her extensive counseling knowledge and personal experience dealing with chronic and terminal illness, Nancy has authored these two books to assist people of all ages to find peace and acceptance of the challenges life has given them.
