Spending an Afternoon with Nora Ezell,
By Kyra E. Hicks "kquilt" (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My Quilts and Me: The Diary of an American Quilter (Hardcover)
I enjoyed this book - it was like spending an afternoon with Nora Ezell. I was fascinated by the way the book reads like a diary. One can see how Ms. Ezell felt when working for HOURS and HOURS on a particular block of a quilt. As a quilter, I was interested to see how another quilter goes through the creative process. The quilts themselves are shown beautifully in this book - all in color! For those of us who don't follow patterns when quilting - this book is such an encouragement!

I was pleased to find a book written by the actual quilter. I was inspired and enjoyed it greatly. I have seen other people's rendetion but theirs were a poor subsitute and didn't do justice to Nora Ezell's work.

The text is really interesting and the pictures are unique and "folksy" quilts. Don't expect any how to do instructions. Nora Ezell has a wonderful creative eye and her designs are one of a kind. Her heart and love shows in every quilt shown.
