5.0 out of 5 stars PURE GCS FUNK
Just a seriously funky album (CD).. One of the more under appreciated albums from the '70's.. But this is non-stop funk from beginning to end.. "Turn it out" and "It's the engine in me" were two overlooked, but really funky tunes. Definitely Larry Graham at his best!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars My r a dio io io my ra di oi o YEAH!, June 4, 2009

"Pow!" Clever, fun and funky. Slap bass at its finest. My radio brings doo wop right back into the pic. Later done by the Oak Ridge boys.
Is it love, great guitar work in a ballad with a groove, hard core vocal before Larry smoothed it out for his solo releases.
"Turn it out", is another funky gem. As long as the bass is poppin, I am enjoying. 4 easily.

I've been a fan of the "oaktown" sound since Santana, and Sly and the Family Stone broke out at Woodstock. I had to re-add this cd to my collection. Hard to find, glad you had it.

This album is so funky that no one even realizes it. This is one of my favorite graham central station albums, don't listen to what anyone says about larry's solo work, it is the most funky music ever made. he took what him and sly did and transformed it into this majical funk that only sounds right coming through Larry. Many have tried to copy but no one has done it yet. LARRY IS THE CAPTAIN SO DON"T NO ONE FORGET IT! and there ain't no bout a dout it that This CD is one of the funkiest. you can listen to it from begining to end.
