Super Melodic Rock,
By LOOZIANA ROCKER (LOUISIANA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My Religion (Audio CD)
I have been a TNT fan for as long as I can remember and have their entire library. This is by far their best production since Tell No Tales. I was very disaapointed with Firefly and Transistor, so I was hesitant about buying this cd. One listen, and I was blown away. Tony Harnell has never sounded better and still has dynamic vocal range. This cd has it all -- superior vocals, harmonies, melodies, edge, grit, pounding bass, firey guitar and thunderous drums. I LOVE THIS CD -- BUY IT NOW!

I bought this album based solely on the reviews on this site. Most of the reviews gave this album some incredible marks so I had high expectations going into my 1st audition. Usually when I have high expectations, I am easily disapointed in the final result, but not this time. While not the biggest TNT fan, I have both Intuition and Tell No Tales and thought very highly of both albums. This release blew me away. I think I can honestly say that I dug every track on it. I've always thought that Tony Harnell had an incredible voice, but must admit that at times, his voice would eventually grate on my nerves hitting high note after high note. Well, it appears that he has been able to tone it down a notch on this album and the results are just what I needed. Ronnie's ability on the guitar have always been technically awesome, but he seam's to have had the reins released here. In closing, I've never heard an album in which I liked every song on it. There was always a track or 2 that left me saying "they must be filling space here". Not here. I can easily say that I loved every song on it. If you've never heard of TNT before, but enjoy great melodic rock from the 80's, you owe it to yourself to pick up this title. You won't be disappointed.

When I first heard about this album I wondered why I had never heard of the band before. After listening to it, I was even more amazed that I had never heard of them. How they slipped through the cracks and never gained much recognition, I have no idea. I agree with one of the reviews before me, that Perfectly is an amazing song. I would probably rate it somewhere in my top fifty rock songs. I will definitely be buying more of their albums, and I would advise anyone else who isn't too familiar with this band to get this CD; it is a very good starting place.

There has been a lot of good music released in 2004 by veteren hard rock acts, but TNT's latest, "My Religion", is simply the best! This is the best music I've heard in years. Unlike a lot of bands making comebacks these days, TNT stays true to form with the music on this album. If you're reading this review, you've probably heard the music of TNT before, so you should have some idea of what to expect. "My Religion" is their best work yet, period. If you're a fan of catchy melodic hard rock, this CD is for you. You'll love it, guaranteed.

A Great Album Of Modern Guitar Powered Rock! A Gem!,

Having been a fan of TNT since the 1980's, I did not have to be convinced to buy this album. Tony Harnell is one the best singers of Rock music in the entire world. He has an amazing vocal range, and ability to drive the music of TNT right into your very soul! This is one the best Albums that TNT has ever released. The songs are all well written and relevant to the world of today. Excellent guitar and drummer teamwork is evident in every song. I have often left this CD in my stereo's Disc changer for weeks at a time. The music really is that good. I can't say anything bad about this Album, and now it has been expanded to include extra tracks, and photos of the band. If you have ever been a fan of TNT or just love to hear REALLY good Rock music, then do yourself a favor and buy a copy of "My Religion". After you listen to this, Guns&Roses will never sound as good to you as they did years ago. But then Axle Rose could never write or sing well enough to be a member of TNT. 5 stars!!!

Holy Cow! I bought this CD after reading the previous reviews, and it did not disappoint. I am at a bit of a disadvantage, because this is my first listen to these guys, even though they were around when I first started banging my head. Great writing, with music just as solid. The technical proficiency of Ronnie Le Tekro on guitar is amazing! I like the whole album alot, and may upgrade the review to 5 stars after a couple more listens. What is the musical style for newcomers? The sound is melodic....a little like 80's hair metal, but not the mainstream stuff that stunk up the west coast. Kind of the backyard midwest and east coast hard rock/metal that was happening at the time. The sound here is more updated and modern, with a few heavier, darker spots, and a disguised ballad or two. The singer has a good multi-octave register, and sounds smooth and clean; no rough spots. I like most of the music I listen to be a little heavier than this, but these guys are so good that I am going to check out some of the earlier work. This guitar player is THAT good!

I agree with all of the other reviews. This is TNT's best work in years. Tony's voice sounds as strong as ever. Even better than the work he did in Westworld. Ronnie's guitar work is excellent. Some of the best guitar sounds and production he has done. I've been hoping someone would put out a strong guitar CD and this might be the one so far. He even does he signature lead lick in the first track, you know the triplet thing he did in some of his other solo's. Overall, not a bad track on the CD. It hasn't left my car CD player yet either. MY Religion is a keeper.

My Religion marked the explosive return of Norway's finest hard rock band and was one of the best melodic rock albums of the year. Lead by the powerful vocals of Tony Harnell and the wicked guitar playing of Ronni Le Tekro, My Religion combines great songwriting with massive production to produce a very memorable rock album. Mixing was handled by the legendary Tommy Hansen whose skills are undisputed. Highlights include the heavy groove of "She Needs Me", the awesome chorus of "Give Me A Sign", the killer guitar riffs of "My Religion", the amazing ballad "Perfectly", and the massive power ballad "Hey Love". TNT were really at the top of their game on this album and they even followed it up barely 2 years later with another great rock album in the same style called All The Way To The Sun. This album is highly recommended to fans of melodic hard rock and is a showcase of Tony Harnell's awesome vocal performance - a solid 4.5 stars.

80's Rock for the new millenium,

I haven't listened to TNT since Intuition, which has been a while, but I just had to pick up My Religion after reading all of the positive reviews, and I must say, that TNT are on top of their game, and above it,on this cd. No need to skip any songs as the cd starts off with Invisible Noise and never lets up. Each song on here is worth listening to,do yourself a favor and pick this one up. Their follow-up,All The way to The Sun, is also worthwhile if you are new to the band.To borrow someone else's catch phrase:"IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS."
