This CD is a mess,

This review is from: My Room Is a Mess (Audio CD)
Rob Crow has to be one of the most diverse artists in music, and is probably one of the most prolific. This CD has something for everyone Ranging from Boy-Band pop to Death Metal. And any song writer that can write a whole song about Jedi Outcast has my attention. The only problem I see with this album is the same problem i see with all of his work; the songs are too short. The songs are only 2-3 minutes long, and when they end its almost dissatisfying; you want more but then it stops. This cd is mixed suprisingly well also. The Songs meld together and there isn't much dead space between tracks. Deffintily a good buy, but if you are just getting into Rob Crow a more conventional album like "Offcell" by Pinback may suit you better.

Rob Crow delivers another solid full-length, recorded completely in his bedroom. Since he was a teenager in New Jersey, San Diego-based Crow has had a knack for writing diverse material - and My Room Is A Mess is no different. Also, Crow has been making the rounds since the mid-1990s as a member of quite a few highly respected indie-rock units (Pinback, Heavy Vegetable, Optiganally Yours, Physics, Alpha Males). Everything is covered here; casual pop, lo-fi, spacey math rock, even death metal. This is what indie singer-songwriters should strive to be. Good stuff.

A Mess Doesn't Begin to Describe it,
This review is from: My Room Is a Mess (Audio CD)
This is an awesome album, Rob Crow is a great musician, however, I am not a fan of a couple of his other bands, Thingy and Heavy Vegetable. But I love Pinback. Anyway, this album is great because it is extremely varied in the styles of music and represents Rob Crow's abilities as a musician. Starting with the opener that sounds like a song from the Boyz II Men playbook, to death metal to indie pop and songs about Jedi outcasts, this album has something for everyone. I highly recommend it
