I bought this for my 5 years old daughter's birthday.
She just loves it! Finally a r/c toy for girls! She moves well across the floor, does splits, turns, forwards and backwards. Seems to go better on hardwood or non-carpeted flooring. It is a bit pricey, but seems to be worth the money.

Being a guy, I hate shopping for girls, I mean for boys you can buy tanks and trucks and r/c cars and planes and helicopters. So I found this for my niece. I am the type of person, who takes everything out of the package and installs batteries, tests stuff out, etc etc before I give for a gift. Kids want to open stuff and play with right away so I make this happen easier and you should do the same and also to make sure you didn't get a defective product. That eliminates people running around looking for screwdrivers, batteries, etc. or having to return something because it doesn't work. Now, I don't know why it is necessary to have 40,000 zip ties and hold downs for every damn toy that is out there, but expect to spend at least 20 minutes removing all this crap to free the rollerskater, which I find ridiculous, I mean, where is she going to go, what could possible happen to this box to necessitate such a lock down of this innocent rollerskater, but, I digress, this seems to be the case with everything you buy. Anyway, install two aa betteries in one foot, 2 aa in the other, and batteries for controller and you are skating away. Amazingly, this thing actually works, and on carpet, and doesn't fall over, she skates, spins, does the splits.....finally a cool r/c toy for girls that can be shot at or run over by the brothers r/c tank. Rarely have I been impressed by a girls toy, but I was with this, it actually does what it claims and does it well.

My daughter wishes she could disconnect her from the skates to role play but finds this so fun she wants me to yell the 5 stars. Just like the previous reviewer mentioned she goes back and forth and does splits and comes back together. easy to learn how to manage it. When I was a kid we had to play with boys R/C so I love the change in the world! Girls Rule! Haha!
