More About the Author

Hello, My name is Heather! I am a mom of three, married to a firefighter, and I am a writer. In 2005 I ventured into the online world to simply start an online community for moms. Little did I know the adventure God had in store for me. It has been a roller coaster with many ups and downs, but each step has led me to where I am today. My heart is to share God's word with you in a loving and practical way.

Heather Bixler's four week Bible memory reading plan is a great little book. This book is perfect if you want to bring some structure to your daily devotional and a good system for memorizing scripture. Each day is laid out with instructions to help you meditate on and memorize the select verse. She also offers weekly encouragement as well as discussion questions that can be used either in a group or for your personal reflection.

This book will act as a companion to your Bible for four weeks and guide you toward encouragement from God's promises. I highly recommend it.

Most of us, Christians, wish we can read and know the Bible more. Regardless of our great desires to have more of the Word dwell in us, we still fail to keep our Bible reading plans. Herein, "My Scripture Journal-God's Promises", Heather Bixler presents a simple yet splendid way to keep the word in our minds and hearts.

"My scripture Journal-God's Promises" shows you how to get more out of a Scripture by asking questions that will make you ponder the Scripture you are reading. It also provides guidelines on how you can memorise Scriptures and their references.

This book can be used as a Bible reading guide for the Children Ministry. Youth and teenagers can follow this guide to memorise Scriptures. As an adult, you can use it to make your own Scripture journal in a simple and non-time consuming way. It is also a suitable guide for family Bible studies.

I loved this little book and I recommend you to buy it, if you want to commit yourself to studying, memorising and meditating on the Word.

While this book is short, it still gives you a way to memorize scripture. Through a 7-day plan, the author takes you step-by-step each day on a journey to commit to memory that week's scripture. This method could be continued after the book's four-week plan ends. A great way to learn scripture! I plan to try it.

This short book by Heather Bixler is a reading plan to help you memorize and apply scripture to your life. It is one thing to read the Bible and another thing to actually apply it to your life.

I like the method Heather uses in her Bible reading plan as she focuses on just one scripture each week. Then, gives you 7 different ways to meditate on and memorize that verse. She also includes a weekly encouragement and 3 discussion questions that you can use individually and write out in your journal or use them as discussion in a group setting.

What you will need:

* Your Bible
* A journal
* Sticky notes
* Access to other versions of the Bible (i.e. BibleGateway.com)

I recommend this reading plan for both individuals and groups!

I am reading a lot of books at the moment. This is one that helps to learn the scripture you are currently studying. I like how this points you to a scripture, has you read it, write it, write it several times and post it throughout the house/office/whereever and to help you memorize that scripture.

The premise of this book is sound and very useful but I don't know that it's something that really requires you to have a specific book. I have, and do, spend a lot of time studying Scripture as I teach a class and am always reading things to prepare. Memorizing Scripture, memorizing anything, is not my strong suit and so I do find that I do better with retaining information if I write it down. I encourage you to actively engage with anything you are reading and want to retain, I just don't feel like I have to have a special book to do it in. You could probably accomplish the same thing and more by identifying a topic that you want to study, identifying the relevant scripture and then answering some application questions in your own notebook or journal. Following your prayer time, write the scripture 3-5 times each day and journal a little on what this means to you and how it applies your life and situation. Find what works for you and engages you and keeps you focused. You might also want to check out some of these books on Bible journaling
This one has a lot of the scriptures journaled for you and you can color them in and then add your own
