As Different As Night And Day,
By
This review is from: In My Sister's House: A Novel (Paperback)
In My Sister's House by Donald Welch tells the story of two sisters. Storm Morrison is being released from prison and she is ready to return to her Philadelphia `hood and claim what belonged to her. She decided that she would re-enter civilization the same way she left it - by herself and with her head held high. Storm had nothing to be ashamed of, except seeing her father cry. The one thing she did not want to do was to face her sister, Skylar.
Skylar Morrison was always working. Having convinced her father to sell the family restaurant to her, she created Legends, the hottest nightclub in the city and Skylar was determined to make it a success. Her only problem was her sister, Storm. Sklyar hoped that by spending time in prison, Storm would change. The two sisters would soon find out that before they could move forward they would have to face their past. For this reviewer, the story started very slow but the drama picked up towards the middle. At that point, I was engaged and quickly turned he pages. However, I felt he dropped the ball with the ending. The book was provided by the publisher for review. Priscilla C. Johnson APOOO BookClub

The undenied Bond of family,
This review is from: In My Sister's House: A Novel (Paperback)
In My Sister's house took me on a journey of love, betrayal and redemption. Donald Welch allowed the readers to become enveloped in the drama of the everyday lives of his characters. It's riveting and thought provoking and will definitely leave you scratching your head a few times. Full of unpredictability and surprises, it is sure to have you on the edge of your seat. Follow the life of twin sisters that couldn't have less in common, who learn throughout many trials, that their bond runs deeper than anything that ever kept them apart.
Looking for a great Spring read? This is it!

Better than the first,
This review is from: In My Sister's House: A Novel (Paperback)
Okay, so this was better than Don B. Welch's 1st novel, The Bachelorette Party. The description of the characters were so real. Everyone reading this book can relate to one or more of the characters in this story either personally or by knowing someone that fits the description. The flow of events was even and on point. Each chapter was a build up to the next, "wow". The transitions left you saying, "what, are you kidding me" or "oh, no he or she did not go there."

This was an okay read a bit slow but picked up toward the end. I'm glad I checked it out of the library I would have been disappointed if I purchased it. I don't have to much to say about it only that it was okay.

In My Sister's house was a wonderful read. The characters came alive in this book - felt like I might know a couple of them! There were some surprises that I just sat there with my mouth open...tears near the end. The twins were so not the same, however had a bond that just couldn't be broken. I recommend this to all - buying a copy for all of my BFFs. Donald - you hit the nail on the head with this one baby! Thank you!

Skylar and Storm Morrison are twin sisters who reside in Philadephia.Skylar is book-smart whereas Storm is street-smart.While Skylar was busy converting their late father's restaurant into Legends,a successful nightclub in Philly,Storm was serving a three year prison sentence for her part in a robbery.
Upon Storm's release, she is ready to live her life and hooks back up with her no good boyfriend, DuBoy who talks Storm into taking over her share of Legends which doesn't really sit too well with Skylar being that she feels she worked hard to get it to being successful. Both girls are like complete strangers to each other and don't have that sisterly bond. Both Skylar and Storm must learn to face their past and learn to forgive each other and rekindle their newfound relationship. This is my first novel by Donald Welch and I was hesitant upon finishing the book because I thought it was slow but the more I read it the more interesting it became to see how the story would play out.I thought this book was a good read.
