My experience with buying a "My Size Barbie" last year was so horrible that I feel the need to warn consumers as I wish I had been warned last year. $129.99 doll that was the most expensive toy I ever purchased and the biggest piece of junk I ever bought. Cheap, doll will not stand, clothes are cheap, our dress was torn, tiny crown broke in an hour, clothes didn't fit doll or child. Ask to see this doll out of the box before you purchase it. I cannot believe Mattel makes such a pitiful Barbie and slaps such a huge price on it. I have been a lover of Barbie for many years and remember my first Christmas I received my first Skipper doll in 1969. I still have her. I don't know what happened with Mattel offering this piece of junk. I was ripped off. Check this doll out before you buy it. Open the box in the parking lot. You will be heading straight for the service desk for a refund.

I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewer. My daughter's grandmother got suckered last year into buying this $130 piece of junk, which last year bore the theme of "Rapunzel" Barbie. Although my daughter (who was 4 at the time) was thrilled to receive this on Christmas day, it has sat in a corner of her room, propped up aganist the wall, since that time. It does absolutely nothing (doesn't talk, move, nothing electronic), the clothes neither fit the doll nor a child, she cannot stand up on her own and I cannot understand how Mattel has the conscience to charge this crazy amount of money for this doll. I might spend $30-$40 for it, but that is it. Don't buy this toy, your child will be disappointed after the initial playing with this doll. I know mine was and it's going to be the first item that goes into our spring yard sale.

Like the others mentioned my daughter wanted this and only this for Christmas. She has wanted a my size barbie for 2 years so we finally gave in. Sadly, it has been returned. She was very excited to get it but found it very hard to play with. It has to be propped up or carefully stood on her feet and it doesn't sit down. The wings kept falling off and the outfit was very cheap. The slippers wouldn't stay on either. It's very sad that an item that costs so much is made so poorly and such a rip off. Shame on Mattel. They could do much better! These were on clearance at 70% off after Christmas. I'm glad we took ours back. Our daughter picked out 2 smaller items and is very happy with them at about 1/3 of the price.

If Santa had not brought this to my 4 year-old daughter, I would return it to Amazon. This doll is chintzy in every way - from slippers of such poor quality, they don't stay on her feet, to the plastic seams in her feet. Barbie cannot stand or sit without support - her knees don't bend etc. I feel ripped off at having spent over $100 for this doll. Mattel will be hearing from me about this major disappointment.

My mother-in-law broke down and bought this for my four-year old daughter. It was VERY beautiful in the box and at first appearance when she came out. However.....after just an hour of playing with her it didn't take long to figure a few things out. Her hair very quickly was a thick, matted mess. Her shoes would not stay on and her clothes were too big. (I assume they did this so they would fit kids also, but simply making the top longer would have concealed this problem.) After all, in the movie, Barbie doesn't show any of her belly! Her feet are TINY and she does not stand unsupported. THE WINGS! They are heavy DO NOT fit Barbie at all. There's no way to even make them fit her and my daughter could not wear them because the heavy glitter hurt the backs of her arms and they were so heavy they just flipped over backwards. Two days later, the crown was in two pieces. Made of a cheap, very soft plastic held together with two very tiny pieces, only two days of play had taken care of it. I am very dissapointed in the product and sorry my mother-in-law wasted her money. Especially now that it's in our local store for a much cheaper price. My daughter does LOVE the outfit. But, that's quite an expensive outfit. Bottom line...don't waste your money unless you can get one on sale.

Before you tell your daughter, "okay, okay i'll buy it." Think about all the money you are wasting. Once when she becomes a certain age, she will get sick of it. She might throw it away after a year.The barbie doll cost over a hundred. Now who would throw away 109 maybe 110 dollars so that the child could play with something that will take up space. My friend had one of those. After two years, she threw it away and soon forgot she even had it. There are barbies and barbie houses that cost less than ten dollars. So, before you go out to buy it, think about it.

This was our 5 year old's one "Big" gift this year. While her brothers got lots of little presents, this was basically her only one because it was soooo expensive, and she wanted it so much! It is now March and we are headed out to [the store] to return this piece of junk. The doll is NOTHING like what is advertised. It does NOT stand on its' own. It stayed propped up in the corner of her closet from New Years' until last week, when she finally decided to try again to play with it. The crown had broken within 2 days of Christmas, and the hair was tangles mess almost from the second it let the box. The clothing was pathetically cheap and ill-fitting, both for the Barbie and the child! She decided to dress it in her pajamas last night, and when she lifted the arm to put into the sleeve, it ripped off. It is not just dislocated like the little Barbies sometimes get, but the vinyl arm is completely torn away from the socket. You can imagine how distressing this is to the 5 year old owner, and also to myself who was dunmb enougt to pay so much in the first place! DO NOT BUY THIS TOY!!!

This is the second "My Size Barbie" for my niece, Courtney. Her previous one was given away and she was heartbroken. This is all she asked for for her 7th Birthday and I couldn't say no. She loves her matching dress and crown and loves acting out. She feels soooo special that she has a big Barbie and none of her friends do. I can't stop smiling when I watch her with her doll because she treats it like it was her best friend. She loves her plain and simple and that makes her happy which makes me happy.

Well, my 3 year old got this from Santa. It was the one thing she REALLY wanted after seeing it on TV. So I broke down and bought it. My daughter LOVES this doll, as awkward as it is. She sleeps with it, carries it everywhere, wears the outfit constantly. However, this is in NO WAY worth even close to $...I would say $...at the most. We've had to tape the shoes on, the hair is a mess, the crown is in 2 pieces....same complaints everyone else had. I cringe at the fact that I spent so much on this doll. My only consolation is that she likes it so much. If your little girl wants this, wait until it's on clearance...

This is a beautiful barbie with her new face and highlighted hair. The one I purchased does not have those durability issues like others have mentioned. She does stand up on her flat feet - it does take some balancing. Her hair could end up a mess, fortunately my little girl keeps the hair close-to perfect. In fact, many would be pleased to see Mattel produce a true long-haired MSB (not like those rapunzels with the hair extensions).
