Book Description

Seventeen year old Brennen Hale has been called a miracle, very fortunate and most frequently– lucky. The only problem is she doesn't believe in luck.
To say she has had a rough life is an understatement, the fact is, that as much as her guardian angel wants to see her live, a faction of demons wants her dead even more.

Brennen starts her senior year with the intent of keeping a low profile. She has secrets to keep and if they get out, her life could be ruined. Her plan quickly loses ground as she makes a connection with not one but two new students in her classes.

Brennen doesn't know it but her lifetime guardian angel has just befriended her. He can’t let her know who he really is or how he really feels about her in order to keep her safe. He is forced to watch the only love he has ever known fall in love with someone else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it January 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
So in beginning it seems to take off really fast but I was ok with it. So far I haven't found a book who's second book isn't out yet but since I read this book before the second one well now I have to wait.

I fell in love with this book it has there funny moments and loving moments. I really liked the humor in it and the unbelievable side comments from the characters make it really funny (well to me)

It's a great book I think most people will like it.

1.0 out of 5 stars don't waste your money!!! January 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
the idea behind the story is fantastic, it's great actually, which is why i couldn't wait to buy it and finally read it. The description of the book which states an angel falls in love with the girl he is protecting made me think the story would be narrated in third person, but it was not. When i read a sample i thought it would be interesting to see how the author would manage to portray the Angel's feelings while depicting the story from the point of view of the main character. So with all that anticipation i paid $2.99 for a book that was literally only worth, to me, $0.99, better yet just give it away for free. The book was HORRIBLE! I could not believe that 1) i paid that much for the book, 2) that all these great reviews made me think the book really was great, 3) that i wasted my time actually reading it! I don't know whether it was the overly childish manner of the main character that ruined it or if it was the grammar, perhaps it could have been that the story itself was ludicrous! I get it that it's fiction so of course its not real, but most authors manage to draw you into the world they have created and leave you engrossed in their web of fantastical tales, this author however horribly failed at it. Getting groomed to be the first female president? are you serious??? i want my money back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful January 26, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I promise to be brutally honest with my opinion, but it should not be taken as fact. Any reader should read it for themselves, before they decide if this book has any merit or not. Do not judge this book biased solely on my opinion. If you do, you might miss out on a great read. You never know. It could happen. My review may contain spoilers, but I really strive to be spoiler-free. I downloaded this book for free on This book was not suggested nor "gifted" to me by the author. I have no affiliation with the author or his/her publisher.

1. Strong Main Character/ Female Heroine: Brennen has lost everything she has ever cared about. Everyone is gone from her life that was ever important in it, except her grandmother, but her memory is going and it is only a matter of time before she is gone as well. Brennen decides to stop being invisible and embrace her youth. I can relate to her in this way, because I used to be so afraid of what others thought of me. I used to take their jealousy and hate to heart, but like Brennen, I have learned to let it go by me. It is hard to stay unaffected, but I learned that haters quickly move on, when their prey pretend like they do not care. If words were stones, I would have been dead long ago, but I have the strength like Brennen has to move on. She is an inspiring heroine, even though she falls too quickly in love with the characters in this book. Although to give her credit, Elijah is really something and I believe that I would fall for him in two seconds as well, but Sam? It was unexpected and a little forced. It was too unbelievable for me and the way she kept going back and forth. It seemed out of character to me. I never imagined that Brennen would be that way and it is a little disappointing, because it takes away from her inner strength.

1.0 out of 5 stars dreadful read April 13, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've not given 1-star to any book before now. I'm very sorry to say that I barely made it to 25% and simply couldn't force it any longer. The book reads like a recap of a To-Do List accomplished over each day written up for the public on a Facebook page. "I did this. I did this. I did this, this and this." I might overlook the typos, I can even make out the probable sentence from a butchered group of words. However, I am completely unable to abide by this flow and style of storyline. A great deal of it sounding rather familiar from a slew of other stories recently read.

My deepest regrets. I strongly recommend that you read a few pages (if available) at the amazon bookstore before you settle on this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome June 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was amazing. I love every thing about it. The story line is awesome. Although this book is labeled young adult, I believe it is for any age. Good and evil take on a new personal meaning for Brennan. Having her destiny explained to her is overwhelming. Yet, with her ambitious streak and humor, she will undoubtedly excel. The characters are great. The author has a way for the reader to connect to each one. The plot sucks you in, wanting to continue reading. I could not put it down. I can't wait to read 'My Soul to Take' next. Well written. A definite must add to your tbr list. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars It had it's moments. January 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found out about this book by looking online and just happened to fall on top of it. I read the first couple chapters and instantly wanted to read more of it. I bought it and I really did like it. It is a little slow in some spots. I don't like how one moment it is now then the next chapter all of a sudden it is like a month or 2 later. I think it needs to gradually go there. Other then that good book. I like the love triangle. Still not sure why she is even considering dating Sam, but I will buy the next one to see what happens.

This book was a quick read. It is a part of a series although I think it could have been just one book. Somewhat repetitive but still enjoyable:)

More About the Author

My writing career began with pet care of all things, being a pet groomer for many years sort of made me wise in my field of expertise. But one can only talk about dogs so much in one day, so I began writing just for fun.

It started with, My Soul to Keep, a paranormal romance, many years ago. In 2012, I took it out, and re-wrote the whole thing from scratch. From there, the characters took off and told me they had much more to say than just one book, so began the Soul Keeper's Series.

Once this series is complete, I have a vampire novel to begin, but this is not your typical blood sucking type of supernatural creature. This guy is something unique all together, but that's all I'll say for now. Please check out my blog for teasers and book release dates.
