This review is from: My Soul is A Witness: African-American Women's Spirituality (Paperback)
Picked it up at the Public Library and was amazed at how it moved me. The essays are unique and a whole gamut of experiences are eloquently shared with the central theme of the place spirituality plays in their lives. Touched once more by the awareness of how the Black Church truly retained the central gospel message that "God" is Love and available to each one who turns to Him/Her. In comparison the White Church of my own experience felt sterile and mundane. The Spirit seemed rarely called upon or welcomed. I bought the book for my own library. It is a treasure!
