With "My Story, My Song", Kalamu Ya Salaam shares some history with the listener, that both moves the heart and makes one think. Too often, stories are lost amidst the growing information overload. With Kalamu, a New Orleans deejay on WWOZ and Griot (storyteller) of the modern age, poetry, passion and music fuse masterfully. This CD belongs in the collection of anyone interested in strong spirited storytelling and a people's history.
