This is the best Bushwick Bill. I Listened to Bushwick and the Geto boys way back in the day when they put out Making trouble" and "Grip it on the other level". I became a Christian about 10 years ago and stopped listening. I am very happy to see this album and it really is great music.

Bushwick Bill shows us the true way to salvation! Bushwick Bills lyrical content has definitely matured from his chucky days! now what I like the most about this record is not only what Bill is saying but also the fact that there is no profanity in this entire record which is surprising when you look at Bills past with the Geto Boys, his early solo career, ETC. I recommend this record to all ages. Bill has alot of wisdom and talks about spirituality, depression, hope and much more. The production is very good as well, now initially I paid this no attention as I was more engrossed in listening to Bills deep and meaningful lyrics. I thoroughly enjoyed this album, and if your a fan of Bushwick Bill you won't be disappointed.

Bushwick Bill needs no introduction to anyone who listens to hardcore rap. He practically pioneered it! His Music wasn't just a gimmick, or a form of entertainment. When you listened to Bill in the 90's Gangsta Rap era, he threw his life at you like an open book to the point of regurgitation. This was never more evident than when he shot his own eye out during a fight with his girlfriend and then posed for a picture (with Willie D and Scarface) with his eye hanging out of it's cavity for the cover of Geto Boys 1991 Album "We Can't Be Stopped"! He's always been the type of person to put his life on display, and with "My Testimony of Redemption" that hallmark has reigned true. When you look at the front cover, you see Bushwick holding a Bible, which, in my opinion is his way of saying "This is me. This is who I am now. Get used to it." But while his attitude toward exposing his life for the world to see hasn't changed, his attitude toward life has. He has grown up. He no longer uses the monicker "Chucky" or "Chuckwick". He doesn't use profanity anymore to get his point across. In fact, in the song "Praise of a Good Woman", He talks about how he used to use profanity in his music and would refer to woman "with a 'B' in front of the 'itch', but my brain had a glitch in it" while praising his wife as being a blessing from God and how he was lucky to find his soulmate and how much he loves her. This is definitely not the Bushwick Bill your used to listening too. He talks about "finding his true self in God" and "Bringing it (Rap Music) Back to the day when people actually learn something from Rap". His past with the Geto Boys is also on full display in several songs including the songs "My Testimony Of Redemption", "Taking It Back" and also in "Renewed Mind" where he declares "It's a new year with my past behind, No More playing tricks on my Renewed Mind" and "Geto Boys is the crew where I claimed my fame, Much respect to them but I gotta push Christ name."
He also gives his fans a realistic look at the direction he is taking with his music. He claims that when with the Geto Boys, he promoted death, Drugs, womanizing, and helped Pioneer the Horrorcore Rap Genre and was worse than Eminem. Now, his direction is all about promoting a positive message of Love, hope, and peace through Jesus Christ. If you love Bushwick's music, you will definitely not be disappointed in his latest album, My testimony of redemption. Listen to it for what it is and understand that eventually, everyone must grow up and realize that life isn't about what you can take from others, its about what you can give to others because God gave the greatest gift of all, His Son Jesus Christ.
