This is a fun book to flip through. It is laid out really well - on each set of pages is a full New Testament and Old Testament reading, plus a comment by a Christian leader and then a couple questions for you to ask yourself and think about. I really like that the book is small and padded hardcover so it's very easy to carry around and read. It also has a cute black ribbon for marking your favorite page/last page read. If you are giving it as a gift, it has a page where you can fill in TO, FROM and OCCASION for which it was given - a nice extra touch.

A beautiful book that my wife and I read to each other early every morning in the sunroom to start the day well before we read the newspapers and have coffee. The New Century translation is superb, the best I have ever come across. So understandable. The accompanying short daily reading from a contemporary author frames the biblical experience in everyday terms. Perhaps my favorite is that by Richard Foster on forgiveness that accompanies the reading on Acts 10:23b-48. What a relief to read sacred scriptures from the old and new testaments and be able to relate to them. I feel blessed in having this little book.

I recently had an illness and turned my life over to God.
I had been wanting to do that for a long time, maybe that was God's way of telling me it was time to be saved so I was.
Anyhow I wanted to learn God's word but didn't know if I would read the bible everyday and this seemed like a good way to do it. Now I can't wait for my daily reading! I have only been reading it for a week and a half but it has taught me many things in this short time. It has been full of inspiration and maybe a few surprises. I actually feel myself becomeing a better person everyday because of this. Maybe that was God's way of bringing me closer to him? Also I looked around the internet at several daily readers and I am glad I chose this one.

My pastor introduced this book to our church. I find it a managable portion of scripture to read at the beginning of each day as I spend "My Time With God." It consists of just 2 pages of scripture reading, in the usual order, as you go through the entire New Testament in one year. There are old testament passages that accompany the New Testament reading for the day, helping to expand upon the truths for the day's reading. The discussion by well-known preachers, evangelists, writers, teachers, and also spiritual icons of days gone by, which follow each day's reading cause me to reflect upon and apply to my life what I have read.

I look forward to picking up this book each morning, knowing I have enough time to meet with the Lord before my hectic day begins. I have already given away 3 of these as gifts to others whom I know are pursuing a closer walk with God.

i really like this translation of the New Testament. it is very easy to understand and reads like a novel. the division into these short "15 Minute" sections are a great incentive for me to read it every day. to have someone elses commentary along with the text, helps to inspire my own thoughts and insights. i also like the references to the old testament, and i frequently look up those scriptures to gain a better understanding. this little book makes a great gift. i can only recommend it.

This book is very inspiring. I enjoy spending time with the Lord as I'm devoting more of myself to him. I encourage anyone who is looking for that more intimate and personal relationship with the Lord, to get this book. God Bless!

This devotional is excellent and just what I was looking for. The rating said the condition of the book was "like new" and it really was.

This book is great for devotional time or as a gift. I have actually bought several copies, and I ordered this one as a gift. It is small enough to carry with you where ever you go and easy to read. Each day's reading includes the new testament reading, plus a couple of passages from the old testament that pertain to the new testament text, and a commentary from a well known writer such as Max Lucado, Billy Graham, etc. This book retailed for $15, I'm not exactly sure what made the price get up to over $50 on some listings. I think it is a timeless book that could be cherished and used over and over.

I picked this book back up after having read through it in 2008. This is by far the most easy to read, insightful way I've found to go through the New Testament, straight through from Matthew to Revelation. Two pages per day with Old Testament excerpts that compliment the New Testament reading, combined with a brief writings from well known authors to wrap up the devotion, all tied together with thought provoking questions to reflect on throughout the day. Highly recommended.

THis is my FAVORITE book for daily reading. It is small and fits on your nightstand or in your purse. It is in an easy to understand version.Give it to everyone who wants to get into reading their Bible. TRY IT FIRST so that you will see how great it is.
