"This is excellent prime lens for video. Your 50mm equivalent which is standard range on fullframe camera but for the stills who depend on auto focus, you must take a risk to buy this lens because I've heard a lot of complaint about front back focusing problem of this lens, but I never experienced once."
"This is excellent canon prime lens. Equivalent to 85 mm, great for portrait. It's very pricey, but if you are real budget or want to save up money to buy another lens, i would recommended 50 mm f1.4, way cheaper, also make a beautiful bokeh , I was considering to buy it too but I already own f1.8 so I decided to go with 1.2 and never looked back"
"This was my first canon 50mm , very good performance in low light, but it's kind bulky, more like plastic but image quality is unbelievable for the price. I currently still own this lens and use it sometime for my personal daily use and travel."
"This is another must have lens, I adore you to get f2.8 one and you'll never regret it, either IS or non IS, depend on your prefer shooting style. if you can still find mark I, you'll saved at least $700 bucks and it doesn't make much different for videographer to upgrade it but for pro photographer you might notice what it make you pay extra on it."
"This is an option, it works very well for videographer. I used this sometime for long range shot with my 70-200 mm because it give you 640 for just extra $300 bucks and it's easy to pack with your stuffs. For the photographer, you'll lose 2 stops and sharpness and that make a very big different for wild life and sportphotographers"
"After been trouble using cheaper one, I realized that spending on a good quality product is more reliable as you spending on a good quality glass. This view finder is very pricey and I wish zacuto will included a bag for it too which is cause you another $25 bucks"
