1.0 out of 5 stars Hell NO, August 26, 2004
By Ricky "viva la rak" (Winnipeg Canada) - See all my reviews
This guy is the worst rap act out their... Only good song, Certified Gangstas, thats it. He is a Black Sterotype Rapper. The beats are O.K at most, they just put as much bass as they could, sounds bad. Bad Rap. DO NOT GET THIS!

4.0 out of 5 stars Capo Status, Certified Street Classic, April 1, 2005
By BX Riderman "Big Taj" (Boogie Down Bronx, NY United States) - See all my reviews
Let me start by saying, if you into that 50 Cent love music, this album ain't for you! Jim Casa didn't make 20 tracks about some girl shaking her ass in the club. This is certified hood music! I will say I'm not sure I would reccomend it to anybody, because this album is REALLY REALLY HOOD! But personally, I loved it.
And I'll be straight up with you, I thought it was gonna be hot trash. I really wasn't feeling Capo before I heard it. But a funny thing happened when I pressed play, I noticed that the next time I listened to anything but this album was like two weeks later. Not to mention, there was only one or two songs that I didn't like. Its so rare when you can find an album that you can put in the deck, press play, and let it rock. This to me is one of those albums.
I know what everybody probably thought (I probably thought the same thing before I bought it) "I don't want 20 tracks of this cat talking about his watch and getting head". Well, that's not what's on this album. Certified Gangsta is about as commercial as this album gets (And in case ya didn't notice, that's about as far from commercial as you can get). Capo really put some thought provoking lyrics together (Mind you he is no Shakespere) but the songs will draw you in. Its sort of a tales from the hood/Hood philosphy kinda mix in terms of his content. And production, WOW!! Its a shame Cam didn't have half the production Casa had on this project.
Out of the 100+ albums I bought last year, I would put this in my top 5 along with Street's Disciple, Kiss of Death, The Hunger for More, and Writer's Block (J.R. Writer Mixtape, STRAIGHT SICK). Cop The Capo............
