4.0 out of 5 stars silly stupid but kids love reading these books
this book is silly, stupid with no educational value that's my view as a parent. But my kid love these books. It makes him READ and it makes him laugh and he enjoy reading.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor excuse for "literature."
Don't ever ask a librarian what they think about these Gutman books. They'll semi-politely tell you that they belong in the recycling bin! When my child brought one home and was told that this was "literature," I read it and about blew my stack! Librarians call this "potty humor" and will not let the children check these out of the library any more than once per month...

5.0 out of 5 stars My students love this series!, April 10, 2007
I teach second grade and my students LOVE this series. We read Books #1 and #3 out loud. We listen to Books #2 and #4 on audiotape. By then the kids are so excited with the series that they can't wait to read the rest of the series. I highly recommend them. They are great with predictions because of their repetitive sayings.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Enc. kids to read & enjoy the experience. Childhood is when we want to develop joy of reading not just to learn but for pleasure too. Thumbs up, I have purchased several from this line.

Don't ever ask a librarian what they think about these Gutman books. They'll semi-politely tell you that they belong in the recycling bin! When my child brought one home and was told that this was "literature," I read it and about blew my stack! Librarians call this "potty humor" and will not let the children check these out of the library any more than once per month. Literature? I think not! I couldn't believe the sexual innuendos in this book and things like "we got up and shook our butts around and sat down again," has no business in a child's book. This is trash, simply put, written to make a quick buck before they're quickly forgotten. Save your money. Buy something from Beverly Cleary if you're looking for some fun literature for your child. I sent this book back to the teacher and had to refrain from ripping it in half. Government wonders about our education system. So do I if we're calling garbage like this literature now.
