Book Description

Birthday candles, dandelions, turkey bones or shooting stars-- seventeen-year-old Logan Carter never passes up a chance to make a wish. But there's no magic in her life until the day a genie goes poof and promises to grant her every desire.

Can the genie's magic finally bring her father home? Get her mother's life on track? Help Lo, once and for all, find true love? Any one of those would be real magic.

It all seems possible--if she can figure out one little complication. She has to share the genie with her best friend Emily, and their desires only come true if they wish for and receive the exact same thing. It's time for Logan to compromise, because even when magic is involved, no two people--no matter how close--can agree on everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Today's Genie November 22, 2012
By Reader
Format:Kindle Edition
I received this book free from Library Thing to read and review. When I began the book, I had second thoughts about the book, but they disappeared almost immediately. Everyone knows what a genie is wants to have one, but that is just wishful thinking. In this story, wishful thinking becomes reality as Em and Logan find they jointly are masters of a genie. Having a genie would be great, but having to share a genie? That might not be so easy, especially since both have to say the wish at the same time. The author has developed a creative plot where two ordinary teenage girls meet up with and share a genie, called Eugene. In the story, they go through a series of antics that are both unusual and funny as they figure out what exactly to do with the genie. The author has created two very believable ordinary teenage girls with the problems teenagers encounter. From the get go, this book held my interest, through page after page of their having and working with the genie. I found the book a welcome respite from all the serious dramas, love triangles and paranormal plots I've been reading lately. It was pure, welcomed fantasy and made me remember all the I Dream of Jeannie shows from years gone by. If you are looking for a welcome relief from life's trials and tribulations as well as a thoroughly enjoyable story, this book is for you. The author definitely shows creativity and promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Funny Book December 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I read My Wishful Thinking by Shel Delisle a few weeks ago. I'm a fan of her books ever since Dolphin Girl and Winging It! so I was very excited when she came out with My Wishful Thinking. And it sure didn't disappoint!
Logan (Lo for short) is a girl with a lot of problems. But..she deals with them. She doesn't think anything can change when she's working for her aunt's store and talking to her only company, Betsy, Trudy, and Monnique. Did I mention they were mannequins?
Like I said..a lot of problems and boredom going on for Lo at the moment.
However something maybe about to happen when a strange man walks in offering to sell his super heavy bag. (Seriously, what's IN that thing?) And Lo gets creeped enough about the bag that she call her best friend Em and together (with much struggle) they open it, summoning a magical (and cute) genie, Eugene. After much screaming and trying to throw Betsy the Mannequin's head at him they soon figure out how much incredible power they have.
Except for one problem.
Both Lo and Em are Eugene's masters.
You're in for a big adventure and lots of laugh out loud moments when you read this book. I absolutely loved it and finished it the night I first read it. An easy read and lots of fun as we figure more about Lo's background and how one incredibly handsome genie can sure change a girls life. It's up to them if they take advantage of it...or do the right thing.
A 5. Was really fast paced and kept me turning. Anyone would enjoy a great book like this!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Read February 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The title of this book says it all. This was a great read all around, from a genie who grants wishes to an evil magician trying to get him back and a confused, scared young woman. A little magic, a little love story and some life lessons learned. I would recommend this one to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny February 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought this book was funny and very relatable, with the parents and how they got divorced and how her mom acted more like a teen, the only untreatable thing was the genie, I didn't see the ending coming

3.0 out of 5 stars Light Reading February 1, 2013

This is not a bad book but I did find some typos. There also was some light cursing. A good light reading book, but I wouldn't
suggest it for any school project.
