I bought this game for myself originally, but it was not long before my oldest child was asking me to buy a copy for the kids' computer. This is the fist non-educational game I have bought for my kids and they really like it. They "won" the game after about 1 month, but it is made to where you can just keep playing after achieving the main goal.

We can visit each other in our 'gardens' and it is still safe in a way that no one else can visit with my kids. It is a super cute and clean game and has actually taught my oldest how to read/spell a few words.

I especially like the workshop tasks, they are fun to do even for adults and I think teaches good skills to kids. The workshop was a little too hard at first, but you know how kids are - it was no time before they were making elaborate stuff for the townspeople.

You can change the appearance and voice of your character at any time in the game and the kids like that a lot. I think it is novel, but only interesting the first couple times.

I enjoyed playing the game, but got bored with it after a couple weeks. My kids are still going strong, playing as often as I will let them. If it were just me, I might give it only 3 or 4 stars, but accounting for my kids and how much they love it, I am giving it 5.

I purchased MySims on Amazon for my son to use on his netbook computer. After several months, I have not been able to successfully install the game onto his computer due to the SecureROM copy protection 'feature'. I have contacted EA customer support. They started with a cut-and-paste response that didn't answer my question and then summarily closed my ticket without answering my question. The sad thing is that these schemes don't really stop pirates--it just angers legitimate users who pay for their programs. I don't plan on purchasing another EA title.

i thiink this game is off the hook,my mom said i could not get the sims becase im 9 years old so if you are not a teen and your parents don't want you playing sims get mysims

My kids love the MySims line of games. Although this game was a great bargain, I was disapointed when it would not load on my Vista machine. The game's specs were misleading. Luckily it worked on my laptop with Windows 7.

Haven't made it through the entire game, but I wish there was just a little more to it. Maybe that's why there's an online world to connect to, but we don't game on the net. However, I love this game because it's something the ENTIRE family does together, and there's nothing with questionable appropriateness. It just doesn't hold our attention for very long, which is maybe for the better, so we don't spend excess time in front of the computer.

I gave MySims as a Christmas Gift for my 6yo son. He needs my help for some basic reading to learn how to play but once he understood the basics he was off and playing and loving it. It's a great non-violent game for the kids.

My son has Sims games for his PS2 , Laptop , Xbox 360 annd his DS . This game keeps him content and out of trouble .

My little sister, age 8, has always wanted to play The Sims "just like you". However, she isn't allowed to due to her age.
She saw a game (DS I believe) at the store that said Sims and was rated E. I researched games for her. Turned out that DS game had bad reviews so I searched for another sim game rated E. I found this.

She has enjoyed it a lot, as do two younger siblings aged 4 and 6. At first, when they were just starting, the controls frustrated them. After a week or so they got the hang of things and it was easier. The main problem was getting them OFF the game!

Now, over a month later, they are still playing it. Not as much as they did but they play every day for a bit.
We loved that the game had three character slots. In this way they each got their own persons.

8 year old was sad that you couldn't have "babies and kids" but she loves it anyway.

I have not played this game so cannot give first hand info. They all love it though.
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that the controls are a tad hard for younger kids. In a game that is aimed at younger ones- the controls should be easy.


We have, so far, had no problems running the game or with securom. No glitches or anything that I have heard about.

I love this game! I have had so much fun building my own unique houses and furniture. I didn't realize how much creative potential I had until I started thinking...I can build this, or let's see if I can build that. I've built all kinds of neat things from a fancy, puff quilted canopy bed to a huge bunny headboard. My daughter, who is 5, really enjoys playing as well, once I get her person through the "errands" first, but after the 2nd or 3rd star, she's good to go.
The ONLY thing I didn't like about this game was that the first time I played, I did all of the things people asked of me and I reached the 5 star status and the game was over! I never heard of that before! So, I replayed it and was careful to not do every single task.
It's a lot of fun.
You do need to make sure it is compatible with your computer though. It didn't work on one of my computers. I also have the wii version, but the computer version is better because there's more people and a special land you can visit where you can pick up different essences. You can meet people there online, too.

i really like this game it's very different from the normal sims games but i think that it really great for young kids as well as older ones
