Book Description

October 13, 2006
MySpace has brought a new music phenomenon to the comfort of our own homes. Never have so many musicians become so popular, so quickly, and it's happening to more and more musicians everyday. The convenience of MySpace has given artists a new way to release their music to the world. Now artists don t have to wait around and hope they can get their break. It only takes minutes to create a MySpace Music profile, and even less time for people worldwide to start to hear your music and learn about you as an artist. In fact lots of artist, musicians, song writers, label owners, managers and others are using MySpace to sell more of their music, make more money, get more fans and more hook ups in the music industry then they could have ever gotten using any other means, but... I hate to sound mean, but simply having a page up on MySpace means nothing unless, you are doing it the right way, and I ve found that over 99.9% of the people in the music industry who have MySpace pages have them set up all wrong, which is simply why they are not seeing the results and amount of success that they should be seeing, in fact most people are not seeing any success, other then getting a couple of hundred plays of their songs every week or so. Ask Yourself... Can you afford to miss out on one of the most popular and beneficial ways for you to get the exposure you want, simply because you failed to put a MySpace page up the correct way and make use of the huge assortment of ways that you can make money from it? The answer is NO! Use Ty Cohen's New MySpace Magic Manuscript to Discover... How successfully build a huge fan / friend list in less time. How to find top music industry contacts in no time. How to correctly use MySpace to promote yourself, artist or company to it s over 100 Million Users (do this wrong and you will screw up big time!) How to make everyone who comes in contact with your MySpace page aware of your concerts, new music and anything else you want th

"Bands used to have to work hard to promote their own stuff," said Riley Hoffpauir, co-owner of Penehoff Promotions, a Tyler-based business that uses MySpace to promote artists. "Now all they have to do is build a page on MySpace and it's accessible by millions and millions of people." --Riley Hoffpauir, co-owner of Penehoff Promotions

Bands are going to MySpace because it s free and they don t have to know how to do a Web site, said Tom Anderson, the site's 29-year-old co-founder and president. But the biggest reason is because there are 43 million (Now over 100 Million! and Growing!) people on MySpace. --Tom Anderson - Co-Founder and President of MySpace

Jonathan Buck, guitarist and lead singer for the Brooklyn indie rock group Coppermine, says his band's profile on MySpace has drawn nearly 300,000 visitors. The band can instantly distribute messages and news to more than 115,000 MySpace users who have added Coppermine as a friend on their profile. Thanks to the broad reach of MySpace, Coppermine no longer has to flood radio stations with CDs or plaster concert posters around town. --As Reported by News Media MSNBC.MSN.com

1.0 out of 5 stars Very basic book and I don't trust this guy, March 30, 2007
This review is from: The MySpace Magic Manuscript The world's #1 guide to using Myspace.com music and other social network sites to market, promote and sell your music world wide! (Perfect Paperback)
About the book: I read most of this book and it had some realy basic stuff in it. If you already have a decent myspace, there are no secrets in this book. If you are new to Myspace this or Bob Baker's (very basic as well) would be a good start.

About Ty Cohen:
I don't trust this guy. I've read one other book of his (got it from the library though) and was reviewing it on amazon and found dozens of really obviously fake reviews about how great his book is. Also, I looked at the reviewers and they had reviewed other music books but promoted him in the reviews of these other books. I think there is a difference in marketing/promotion and just flat out dishonestly.

1.0 out of 5 stars do not buy this book, September 21, 2007
This review is from: The MySpace Magic Manuscript The world's #1 guide to using Myspace.com music and other social network sites to market, promote and sell your music world wide! (Perfect Paperback)
this book is simply a rip off. Before I bought it i read really good reviews about it until I saw a review saying that Ty cohen itself might have been writting them! Well despite being warned, I went ahead and bought it for who knows which reason....anyway, it was a real disapointment and wish I spent my money on a cheaper and better book cause this one ain't worth my money (or yours!). Not being experienced and familliar with myspace, I thought that this book could only be a good asset and that i could only learn from it...but I was so wrong, it s so basic and full of advertisement for other books and websites on which he certainly wants you to waste your money on! Trust me, after buying one of his book you probably won't buy anymore from him, this is surely why his books are so expensive cause he knows it would be his only chance to get money from you so he tries to take as much as possible! You know what, for your own sake and other good writter's who provide books worth spending your money on, please don't make that mistake of making someone get richer by ripping people off!
