Biography

Bands often use a self-titled album to stamp something – a new beginning, a new sound, a career-defining batch of songs by which all of their other work can be measured. For the Alabama-based MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE, their new eponymous album represents all of these things and more – marking both a new chapter for the members and the advent of a refined sound they've been chasing ... Editorial Reviews

MyChildren MyBride's highly anticipated third full-length, produced by heavyweight Metal producer Zuess, is appropriately a self-titled. It's a statement album that confidently showcases a band firmly planting its roots .With two full length records, over 50,000 scans, and tours with the who's who of the contemporary Metal scene under their belts, the band is poised to soar to new heights and into the forefront of modern Metal scene with the release of MyChildren MyBride.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Band With S T Y L E January 16, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have all 3 of their releases, and love them all equally.

This band has a unique sound that I, personally, love - bold, rhythm centric, unrelenting.

Their music has qualities that leave you wanting more. The musicians craft rhythms that are energizing with a raw metal edge. Truly gifted.

The vocals have a cadence that is exhilirating and the vocalist helps define this bands uniqueness. His voice is suited to this style and in my opinion he is one of the best.

His vocal attitude is provocative, with tone that says "deal with what I say" and his style has a polished feel or thoughtfully considered approach adding up to a great listening experience.

This is an outstanding GROUP - with dynamic synergy that could never be replaced. Please don't change that line up.

I am so happy that I bought this. May Jehovah bless you Mychildren Mybride.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Music; Worth it!!! January 16, 2013

I've been a long time fan of this band and was extremely happy with this purchase. After their Lost Boys album (which was fantastic) I decided to purchase this one. MCMB delivers again; they put their heart and soul into delivering some really moving music. Amazing music, would recommend to anyone who likes this genre.

4.0 out of 5 stars Heartfelt rhythms January 9, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
During their first couple albums, Mychildren Mybride had set up a niche sound of their own that's pretty well inimitable. This time, they're changing things up, and not only musically.
Listening to this album, one doesn't have to read any interviews to know that the singer, Matthew Hasting, really poured out a whole of his heart in the themes dealt with. And it's not always dealing with hope. At times, what he screams is actually heart-rendering, like the loss of his mother when he was young, and that he's had relationships destroyed while out on music tours.
Pretty heavy stuff!
The direction of the music, on its own, is at times startling. Their first single, "God of Nothing," start out sounding something like old-school Korn (especially in the vocals) and then starts to sound like their actual self... if not reminescently. They even have some heavy elements of synths in use (especially in "Morpheus" and "Anathema").
The album artwork is also, just like everything else, pretty different. And not only because of the direction, but seems to be a different style Ryan Clark, who's done artwork for a whole lot of metal bands for a little over a decade while playing Demon Hunter.
Suffice it to say, this has been quite a different direction for this band, but it shows they're willing to experiment with a new style in everything and show they can deal with things heartfelt. How willing are the fans to listen to their new style? I'm one willing.
