This review is from: Mygica Hybrid USB HDTV Tuner, with Clear QAM, ATSC TV, FM radio, Video and TV Capture / Recording - With Bonus Antenna and Remote (Electronics)
I installed the Mygica Hybrid USB TV Tuner Stick on my XP laptop with out a hitch, but when I tried to install it on my Win7 desktop, the ArcSoft TotalMedia3.5 would not accept my license key. I called ArcSoft tech support and was told that the TotalMedia3.5 was not compatible with windows 7 and they have no intention on make it so.
I am now looking for some Win7 software to run the tuner stick.

Not as advertised. The antenna is not anything like the picture. The remote is not anything like the picture, plus the remote does nothing and there is nothing saying what it should do. The radio does nothing. All of the previous remarks look just like the Hauppauge stick (antenna looks like theirs, remote looks like theirs, and no radio). It locks up frequently, requiring a computer reset. Once you reset and get all your channels set, it works OK. It trashed the audio codecs used by Windows Media Player for ".mpg" files. The receive sensitivity on the HDTV tuner is far less than any of my TVs using the same antenna. It looks good on the channels that it picks up well and it records well on the composite video inputs. Update - The composite video went out. The last straw; Returning it was easy. It's boxed up. I'll see how long the refund takes.

I am using this on a 32bit Win 7 Dell with no issues. I am using it in Afaghanistan to receive the AFN signal. This was much cheaper than buying a TV and I can take it with me. Works great for me.

I spent a long time trying to make it work with the packaged software only to find it works perfectly with Windows Media player. Frustrating.

All the tuners in this are pretty weak. I've had to manually include stations in analog NTSC cable just to see them. The autoscan is very slow and often misses them. Clear QAM sometimes works but usually doesn't, showing unencrypted channels as being locked that show up when directly connected to a flatscreen without a cable box. So something's wrong with this. It also has a problem of overheating after a while of use. I have a laptop cooler, so I just run this underneath and that doesn't happen anymore. Finally, the antenna is completely worthless. A solid core copper wire will work far better. Spend your money elsewhere.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Who would have thought a product made in China, where most patents & copyrights are regularly ignored, would be handicapped by a built-in copyright protector. I tried to capture my video of my daughter's high school dance group, only to be met with "this media is protected by copyright." It was keying in on the music, and checking it on the internet!! I had to disable my internet connection to make it work. What a hassle.
This is probably why the HD QAM tuner locks out all regular over-the-air cable channels. Yeah, it sees them, but won't let me see them. Totally useless. The only way to view DTV is with an antenna. Forget the included antenna. The channel scanner takes forever, and the sensitivity sucks. I spent hours messing with the lousy USB connection on the device (pull it out slightly to make it work), and of course, sometimes it overheats. Once I did get the capture function working though, it did perform fine, and I captured video from VHS, old camcorder tapes, and even rooftop-antenna-received HD broadcasts. For the high def, I recommend a fast computer for capture, with a top-of-the-line video board for playback. Otherwise, the video is jerky on playback. I wish the capture was something other than .meg2, because the HD video shows jagged edges on moving objects. I reduced this slightly by converting the video to .mkv. I bought this because all the slots on my Dell i7 860 were taken. (I run 2 video cards & 4 monitors.) I need a USB stick to capture video. Because I can't receive any HD cable channels, I can't use this as a computer-as-DVR input. Spend a little more money, and go somewhere else. P.S.: DUAL VIDEO CARDS: For those of you who are having trouble setting up 2 video cards (and there seems to be a lot of you), here's the secret: use 2 of the same kind of cards (either ATI or Nvidia), use 2 cards that are similar in performance, and remove the first card (don't uninstall it) before installing the second. Then, when the second card works fine, put the first back in (don't reinstall it), and voila, both cards should work. I'm assuming you know how to deal with computer hardware. Good luck!
