Myra's CD is the greatest...,
By AllwayznStyle (La, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Myra (Audio CD)
My sister and I begged my mom to buy us this CD after we heard the song Miracles happen on the Disney channel, it is such a great song. It is also on the Princess Diaries soundtrack. We love Britney Spears, but after hearing this Cd, it is now our favorite. Lie, Lie, Lie is a good song too. Myra's voice is really beautiful and she is always dressed so well, not like she is older than 15 years-old, she is a good role model for young girls like me to look up to. The Cd also has a great pop sound, something that we had looked for in many of the popular albums that are out right now, but had never found. I recommend this album to anyone who simply wants to hear good music.

One of the things I like about Myra is that she doesn't try to sound like anyone else. She has a unique talent and a really great voice. This CD has a variety of songs that are all great. I highly recommend this disc!

Great!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Myra (Audio CD)
There's an apparent difference between everyday pop stars and Myra: Myra's songs are unique, laced with her own independance and talent. (Especially Miracles Happen, I LOVE that song! It's awesome!) I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but to me, pop singers like britney and christina, all their songs are alike. and not just their own, but also compared to each other. (i'm trying to take the most sensitive approach to this topic)I recommend her CD to anyone who enjoys listening to things that aren't the same as the song before.

"Myra" is a must-buy for all pop lovers!,
By Priscilla Stafford (Yokohama, Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Myra (Audio CD)
I first heard of "Myra" while on the plane listening to the radio programs. I listened to "Dancing On the Street" and "Miracles Happen, When You Believe" (this song was used in the movie, "The Princess Diaries"). I liked the sound of it and got the CD at the first CD store I was able to go to. And I don't regret buying it!"Myra" is definitely a cool album to buy!! Though Myra is only 15-years-old she has a great voice and talent. From slow songs like "Wishing on the Same Star", to bubble-gum pop "Candy Boy", and even to rock pop like "Hanging Up On You", I'm sure you'll like! Here are some of my most favorite songs on this album. Lie, Lie, Lie: Great song, not too fast, not too slow. Love the lyrics because of how simple a love song it is. Candy Boy: Bubble-gum pop song where you'll snap your fingers and tap your feet to the beat. I had a hard time memorizing the lyrics and being able to say them on beat with the music. "Lips like cinnamon, feel like giving in, to the sweetest eyes I've ever seen..." Both "Like A Girl In Love" & "Bye-Bye My Love" have a sort of Latin sound to it which I really like. "My heart beats to the time, it's a tick-a-tack-a-tickety-tack!" "25 Hours A Day": Love this song!! "Hanging Up On You": Pretty cool song and I really love the beat. And basically all of the songs are fun to listen to. Myra also recently had a new CD released called "Milagros" which has all the same songs as the songs on this album, except in "Milagros" she sings all the songs in Spanish. Sounds interesting and I think I'll probably check it out. If you haven't listened to "Myra" yet, I recommend you check it out!

Move over Britney and Christina,

I got this CD as a gift. I had never heard of Myra, but decided that I would give it a listen and I loved it!!!! Her voice is beautiful, she is beautiful. The only difference between her and Brintney is that Myra can sing!!! Her song Miracles Happen is my favorite. It will be featured in that new movie Princess Diaries. The whole CD is really good, great beats, and that voice is absolutely amazing!!! I recommend it to anyone who loves pop.................

Spirited teen pop,
This review is from: Myra (Audio CD)
From Buena Vista, kingdom of bubblegum teen pop hails Myra, a kick butt teen with power pipes. However, her efforts would be put to better use with more songs of her caliber. Most the songs on the disc are predictable, and while catchy, border on overproduced.Lie, Lie, Lie < Decent start, though the repetitive chorus gets annoying after awhile. Vocals are slick. Candy Boy < 100% bubblegum. Listenable depending what mood I'm in. Like A Girl In Love < Cute and edgy, though at the end she begins to bend all the notes like a Christina Aguilera wannabe. Gets annoying to the ear after a while - if she stuck with her clean, normal vocals it'd be a better song. Miracles Happen < Ah, the song that boosted her popularity! Inspiring with uplifting strings, this is likely the best song on the CD. Bye-Bye My Love < Somewhat filler-ish. 25 Hours A Day < A pretty, upbeat ballad. One of my favorites. Wishing on the Same Star < Soulful wailing with heartfelt effort on Myra's part, but the song falls short. Dancing in the Street < She sounds like she's having a lot of fun here, but for some reason I can't stand this song. Where You At? < Typical of the album, follows the same mood as the other songs. Girls Like Boyz < Fun and preppy! As If > I love her vocals on this song. They're smooth and easy to listen to. Hanging Up On You > Familiar and predictable. Filler. Dreams > Hmm ..okay, I guess. Her voice is a little high pitched to match perfectly with the wailing trumpets. Over all, catchy teen pop, but the songwriting could be better.

Best CD I Own,
By Sam (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Myra (Audio CD)
This is frankly the best album I own in all my life of living. No joke. She isn't another Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson. Myra has true beauty and a sound of her own. This CD will appeal to ages 5 to 55. The songs that are just beautiful are, "Lie Lie Lie," "Miracles Happen," "Bye Bye My Love," and not to mention all of the other 10 tracks. Sure, she might not be the most popular out there.. but it's all about the music. If you don't own this - you're honestly missing out.. lots.Lie Lie Lie - One of the best songs that show Myra's abilities vocally. Her voice is wonderful. You might not picture this as the first track, but once you purchase the album, it works wondefully. It's a mid tempo song.... 5/5 stars. Candy Boy - The lyrics are out of this world. They're wonderful! For most people whom aren't a fan of Myra, they'd usually pick this song of being their favorite because it is just so, well, fun! At first it didn't appeal to me but I grew onto it.... 4/5 stars. Like a Girl in Love - My current favorite. It has some spanish flavour in it. It's very funky at the begginning aswell. If she were to release a few more singles, my choice would 100% be THIS SONG. 5/5 stars. Miralces Happen - For most people who hear the name Myra, they go, "Oooh! Miracles Happen! I know her." Exactly. This song is so good. Usually songs wear out within a week and you can't stand to hear them anymore. No, NO, AND No! I listen to this song and have it stuck in my head for an average 2 hours each day. It never gets old. Mid tempoed with fab lyrics! 5/5 stars Bye Bye My Love - So far I like each one of the songs, it's hard to say I like on more than another. This one is just so darn good too! It's a great song to dance to, but the music doesn't over do it. 5/5 stars. 25 Hours a Day - Not exactly one of the best, however, with Myra.. anything is the best regardless. Mid tempoed and has some real good lyrics. 4 and a half/5 stars. Wishing on the Same Star - One of the bests ballads in the teen scene today, IF NOT THE BEST. Diane Warren wrote this song for Myra, and it works wonderfully with her amazing vocal ability. It's just so beautiful you can't put into words. 5/5 stars. Dancing in the Street - This song pretty much speaks for itself. It introduced Myra into the music world. They changed the style of the song to make it "hip" for the new millennium - it's great. 5/5 stars. Where You At - It is probably one of the bests (not like I haven't already said that,) on the whole CD. It is a type of song that you just HAVE to get up and dance to or sing to... it's just so much fun. 5/5 Stars. Girlz Like Boyz - It is a good song, but from all the songs on this CD, I like this one the least. I like to listen to it, but it usually gets the 'skip,' button from me. Although all Myra's songs are good... her voice is great, but the lyrics to this song may not appeal much to an older audience. 3/5 stars. As If - A real cool song. You might want to say, 'Britney Spears,' at first, but this is so much different and so much more. The lyrics are very cool and it's another fun dance song. 5/5 stars. Hanging up on You - Another fun up-tempo song that would be great as a single. 4/5 stars. Dreams - A Very nice ballad. The lyrics are very nice and catchy aswell. A great way to end out such a beautiful CD. The music is just as good as the vocals. 5/5 stars. Overall Rating: 5/5 stars. If you like Myra, may I suggest you purchase other CDs that include her work... "Schools out Christmas," has 3 hot new Christmas tracks she did. Her spanish album, "Milagros," has all these songs translated into Spanish (which are all very good aswell.) And then you can get her Japaneese album called, "Myra and More," from Amazon. It includes remixes of Lie, Lie, Lie and 2 new tracks.

Charming Debut,
By J. Martin "ffej26" (Woodside, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Myra (Audio CD)
Myra has nothing original on her debut album but she has something that none of the new crop of teen singers have. A very charming presence. She sounds like she is having so much fun, and this is what this album is about. Having fun. From the sweet Miracles Happen to the funky remake of Dancing in the Streets. She has an engaging voice that really shines on the lovely ballads Wishing on the Same Star and Dreams. Other standout tracks include As If and 25 Hours a Day, to great dance songs that will surely put a smile on your face. Myra is a star in the making and this is one artist who isn't trying to impress anybody. She is a teen artist who put out a cd for teens. She's not acting older than she is and that whats so charming about her. One of the few albums that I enjoyed every song.

Excellent CD,
By Mr. Movie "Movie" (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Myra (Audio CD)
I really can not believe that this girl didn't become a super famous all-star, because her voice is definitely good enough for it. She has an incredibly strong voice, a great taste of music and an all out excellent album. I really think that she should be a super star, and it's too bad that she didn't make it too far, because she definitely deserves it!
Her songs have great lyrics, good, danceable beats, and great melodies. I really like the sort of mexican style guitar in "Like a Girl In Love." Beautiful stuff.

Great teen pop album--she should've made it past Radio Disney,
By C. Eberlein (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Myra (Audio CD)
Myra first hit the bubblegum Disney music scene in late 2000 but released her sterling pop debut (the appropriate titled MYRA) in 2001. Her song "Miracles Happen" shown on the soundtrack to the hit-movie The Princess Diaries, and pushed her into the public consciousness (for a brief moment, of course). MYRA is an absolutely amazing teen pop release (songs like opener "Lie," "Candy Boy" and ballady "Wishing on the Same Star" all prove her vocal abilities to persuade) and Myra herself possesses some really strong and powerful vocals for such a young'n. Too bad she never got past the Radio Disney crowd, because she is a talented artist.
