This 15 inch enamelized pan is the ideal product for cooking the perfect paella. This pan is made in old fashioned tradition and is a true paella pan – wide, round and shallow, and with splayed sides. It is exactly the type thathas been used in Spain through the ages. In order to cook paella, you need a paella pan! The shape and construction make the difference. Paella is cooked in a thin layer which is the reason that paella pans are large and shallow. You will notice the large cooking surface that dips slightly in the middle to facilitate pooling of oil during preliminary sautéing. Myson paella pans are ideally suited for paella, but you will find your way to limitless uses for other dishes. Its great for grilling, fish fries, clam bakes, breakfast, and a variety of outdoor cooking. This inexpensive, but authentic, Paella pan works very well on a kitchen range. It heats up quickly and is fairly easy to clean. I centered it over the largest burner on my stove, because it isn't large enough to fit over two burners safely. The next size up would fit over two burners, but pan size is directly related to serving size with Paella pans and this 15 inch pan serves four to six. There are lots of more expensive pans, but this one does the trick! Please note that to make authentic Paella you don't want a nonstick pan or one with a cover!!! Two rules for Paella are--don't stir the rice and don't cover the pan (except with paper towels when you are "finishing" the rice.)
