A truly remarkable book written on two levels. Outwardly it is a suburb scholarly treatise on the Great Cathedral at Chartres. Esoterically it is a veiled alchemical revelation on the great Temple Mystery. It was undoubtedly written by an initiate with first hand knowledge of the secrets of the Ancient Mysteries. I would rank this work among the very few great alchemical works of the 20th century, along with Fulcanelli's Le Mystere des Cathedrals (1971) and Dorje Jinpa's A Synthesis of Alchemy (1994). I recommend it highly.

Thought provoking book asks not how this extraordinary cathedral was built but by whom and why. Also explains clearly the principles of the "sacred geometry" and points out some unique features of the edifice arising from its use. There is a sense of awe that the author cannot suppress but one wonders if this attitude adds to what can be learned from questioning traditional ideas about medieval construction or complicates the subject. Highly enjoyable. When
